A 20-year-old Loganville man died in a pedestrian fatality on Saturday night

(Duluth, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a pedestrian crash on Saturday night that led to the death of a 20-year old Loganville man.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 14, officers assigned to the Central Precinct were dispatched to a pedestrian crash on Duluth Highway and Primerica Parkway in unincorporated Duluth. Officers arrived to find Deiago Scott, 20, of Loganville, suffering from significant injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of a brown Saab was traveling east on Duluth Highway in the right lane. According to the driver and the passenger of the Saab, they were traveling through a green light at the intersection with Primerica Parkway when they collided with Deiago who was attempting to cross the roadway in the crosswalk

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be contributing factors.  A continued investigation is needed to determine the exact details of the collision.
