Our Elementary Show is still in the midst of being installed, thanks to the flu – ugh!  Hopefully, the rest of the teachers will be in this week to finish hanging the show.  Sometimes you just have to roll with it, right? I’m sharing photos of the students’ works that we have so far on Facebook – be sure to check in to see their creative, fresh and fun artwork!

Above you can see a little recap of our Awards Ceremony for the Winter Show.  What a fabulous night!

Check out all the new happenings below … and there’s still time to shop for your Valentine for one-of-a-kind, beautiful gifts made with love by our local artists.

Stud Earring Drop in Class
Saturday, Feb. 17

Last week at MWCA  … Susan Pelham’s collage class … Special Needs Class “Art Abounds” … Standing room only at the Chocolate Walk!
A young man came in last and asked if we carried pieces by Rozelle Bush. I showed him Rozelle’s blown glass works: fairie hearts, hanging flowers, heart votives and roses. He told me how his parents (who have passed away) had commissioned pieces by Rozelle and her husband many years ago. He lives in Texas now and was traveling to Tennessee but he drove an hour out of his way to buy two of Rozelle’s blown glass hearts for his sisters to remind them of their parents. Isn’t that sweet?

His face lit up when he walked in here. He told me how they had come here as kids for lessons and camp. His words: “We really didn’t know how great we had it and how special it was to have a place like this. All my memories are happy when I think of the Art Guild.”

This place is precious in the memories of so many children, many of them now adults with kids of their own. Love that.

A Cup of Love

From many of our Walton Writers …

A Valentine’s Day anthology filled with stories from the heart.

Thirty writers join to share fiction, memoirs, and a few tasty recipes to benefit charity. All proceeds go to First Book, the country’s largest network of educators serving kids in need.

As in real life, these stories include moments that are bright and beautiful, happy and romantic, and in some instances, sad with loss. First love, first kiss, childhood memories, a ghost helping a widower, an angel bringing a mother to a child, a box of old letters, therapy dogs, rescue dogs, a visit to Paris, advice for the broken-hearted, chocolate mousse, and more. The common denominator is love.

Why send a card when you can send an eBook for only $2.99?
