The William Harris Homestead Foundation and Authentic Primitive Living is teaming up on Sept. 19 to present a Wild Resources Nature Walk led by Andrew Minnick of Authentic Primitive Living. It will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Wild Resurces Nature Walk promises a crash course in “ethnobotany” and understanding of our beneficial flora. It focuses on edible, medicinal, and useful plants of the southeast (Georgia Piedmont region) and will address trees, plants, herbs, and fungi that have played vital roles in many cultures.
Admission to the event is $10 (all ages) advance tickets suggested, limited quantities will be available at the gate. The tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wild-resources-nature-walk-w-andrew-minnick-of-authentic-primitive-living-tickets-116470003917**
Closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing are recommended for the nature walk. Guests are encouraged to bring a basket (paper bags will be available), notebook, and a small pocket knife or scissors.
The log house and grounds are open to the public, from 10:00-2:00, for tours that day as well.
Visit www.harrishomestead.com for tour and ticket information. In keeping with the CDC and Governor Kemp’s recommendations, wearing a mask and practicing proper social distancing whilst visiting the William Harris Homestead is highly suggested.
