The City of Monroe is about to get even sweeter! The Blue Rooster Bake Shop and Eatery, known for its great assortment of cupcakes and tasty chicken salad, has signed on to open up in the space previously occupied by the Cotton Cafe.
“We aiming for opening in August,” said Blue Rooster office manager Cat Funes. “We’re so excited to come. Monroe meets our vibe. We love the location – there next to the ice cream shop. We just love the feel of Monroe.”
Funes said the Blue Rooster has had a bake shop and eatery n the square in Lawrencevillefor seven years. Prior to that, they had a full service restaurant since 2001. Monroe will be a second location. They are hoping to be able to branch out from there and possibly open more locations in the future.
“We are going to try and keep it within the same family, the same color scheme, but we want each to have its own feel and vibe,” Funes said.
The Blue Rooster serves “pastries, cakes for all occasions and deli sandwiches.” It also has a coffee bar with dine in seating available.
“We also do catering and box lunches. We’re popular with Gwinnett County Schools and we’re excited to be able to connect with schools that are a little further from us,” Funes said. “We’re really excited about coming to Monroe.”
Chances are Monroe is probably just as excited about the Blue Rooster coming to its downtown.
