Breaking: 62-year-old Covington man injured in motorcycle wreck Sunday

A Covington man was injured Sunday at the intersection of H.D. Atha and Ammons Bridge Road while heading towards Highway 138 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Georgia State Patrol Trooper First Class Cal Barton said the accident happened at about 12:04 p.m. A Trailblazer, driven by Linda Edmondson, 56, from Monroe, was traveling west on Ammons Bridge Road and attempting to turn left onto H.D. Atha Road. Barton said she pulled into the intersection and then stopped. Michael Robinson, 62, lay the motorcycle down to avoid the collision.

“He was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital with moderate, but non life-threatening, injuries. Linda Edmondson was not injured,” Barton said. “She was cited for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.”
