Georgia State Patrol report that a motorcycle chase ended Tuesday morning when the driver gave up and stopped after being boxed in by law enforcement. Several people reported seeing the chase on Highway 78 and then the bike being loaded onto a wrecker, but officials confirm there was no wreck.

Trooper First Class Cal Barton with GSP said that Walton County Sheriff’s Office had attempted a stop for speeding when the driver chose to flee instead of stopping. GSP joined in and several law enforcement vehicles were seen in pursuit of the motorcycle. The chase ended on Highway 78 near the Cherry Hill Road turnoff.

“He gave up without incident when he was boxed in,” Barton said, adding he is not sure at this time whether there are any other charges or warrants on the driver.
