Walton County Fire Rescue, with the assistance of Monroe Fire Department, responded to a house fire at 9:40 p.m. Last night 2163 Mountain Creek Church Road.
“Fire personnel from WCFR arrived on scene to find the back rooms of the home on fire as well as the back porch,” said Battalion Chief Craig League. “A quick fire attack was undertaken and firefighters were able to keep the rest of the home from burning.”
League said two dogs did not survive the fire. Both of the adults were treated at the scene for minor burns, both refused further treatment at the hospital.
“The fire has displaced the two adult occupants of the home, who are staying with relatives,” League said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
