Breaking: Several law enforcement agencies chase suspect who ran from Clearview

Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman said several law enforcement agencies were involved in a chase this afternoon with a suspect who ran from Clearview Regional Medical Center. The subject of the chase was involved in an accident earlier in the day. Walton County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Craig League said the accident in which the suspect was involved happened at Charlotte Rowell Boulevard at Double Springs Church Road. The suspect as well as a woman and baby in the car also were injured.

“Our supply officer came up on the wreck and stopped to render aid,” Craig said, adding that the baby and female were taken to Clearview Regional Medical Center, but the male fled.  “The car that they were in was apparently stolen and the driver had felony warrants. He was also injured, but he ran from the scene.”

League said the driver subsequently called 911 and did go to the hospital for his injuries. However, he ran again when officers showed to arrest him and a chase ensued involving Monroe Police Department, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol.

GSP Trooper First Class Cal Barton said they lost the suspect in the woods and have called off the chase.
