Carnival in Loganville gets off to a great start, car show to follow Saturday

The Loganville Carnival has taken over the field next to City Hall for its first annual carnival. The gates opened Thursday to the first carnival attendees in what promises to be a fun weekend in the City. Organized by Leisure Time Associates, there are 14 rides, including the Yo Yo, Hurricane, Spider, Dizzy Dragons, Dragon Wagon and the Scrambler as well as traditional carnival games and snacks.

City Hall is located at 4303 Lawrenceville Road, Loganville with parking at City Hall and behind the Rock Gym as well as the grassy area on Main Street. Handicapped parking is in the parking lot next to the carnival that can be accessed from Lawrenceville Road.

The carnival will be 2 to 11 p.m. Friday Saturday; and 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday. While there is no admission to enter the carnival, tickets are required for the rides and can be purchased at the carnival for $1 apiece or 18 tickets for $15. Single-day passes will also be available offering unlimited rides for $25

Also this weekend will be the 14th annual Master’s Car Show, on the Town Green on Saturday.. Registration for participants begin at 9:30 a.m. and costs $20 per car. This annual car show is a fundraiser to benefit the Logan House, a battered woman’s shelter that serves Loganville. More than 125 cars took part in last year’s show. The Tommy Taylor Band will be at the Ray Nunley Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will be food vendors on site, a raffle and door prizes in addition to the car awards.
