Loganville takes its third straight Class AAAAA Georgia High School Baseball Championship, beating Ola in two straight at Coolray Field Monday Night. The Red Devils won the first game 6 – 2 and then, in a nail biter, managed to hold onto the lead winning the title with a 7 – 6 finish in the second game.
The Loganville Red Devils Class AAAAA baseball team plays for its third Georgia High School Championship in as many years Monday afternoon. The twice returning champions take on Ola for the 2019 state championship.
After beating Locust Grove Tuesday in two games straight in the semifinals, the returning champion Red Devils first game will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, home of the Gwinnett Stripers. The second game will follow at 7:30 p.m. If a third game is needed, it will be at Suntrust Park on Tuesday, May 21. However, the Red Devils haven’t played many third games at all this season and none during the playoffs.
Loganville beat Locust Grove at home Tuesday in the final four, taking the first game 11-5 and the second game 6-1. Ola beat Decatur in two games straight Tuesday to advance to the state championship. If they beat the returning champions, it will be Ola’s first baseball championship.
