Construction activity for I-85 widening project will require lane closures next week

BRASELTON – Construction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.

Beginning Monday night, asphalt paving and barrier wall placement will necessitate single lane closures along I-85 in both directions between SR 211 in Barrow County to Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County, and bridge construction will necessitate single lane closures along I-85 in both directions between SR 211 to SR 53 in Jackson County. Work will occur nightly from Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and Saturday 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.

Traffic pacing activity will also occur Monday through Saturday night. Pacing activities will take place in both directions from Hamilton Mill Road to SR 211. Pacing will begin at 9 p.m. nightly and continue until 5 a.m. each morning.
