The last month of this election season is finally here and residents wanting to vote in the midterm elections on Nov. 6, 2018, have until Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, to register to vote if they are not already registered. If you are a Walton County resident, here’s how to register.
- Fill out a voter registration form in person at the Board of Elections office at Walton County Board of Elections, 303 S Hammond Drive, Suite 11, Monroe, GA 30655.
- Download a registration form and drop it off or mail it to Walton County Board of Elections, 303 S Hammond Drive, Suite 11, Monroe, GA 30655.
- You can register to vote online through the Georgia Online Voter Registration System.
To register to vote in Georgia, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote
- At least 18 years old by Election Day
Voting
Early voting begins on Oct. 15 and runs through Nov. 2, with Saturday voting on Oct. 27. Early voting will take place during business hours at the Walton County Board of Elections, 303 S. Hammond Drive, Suite 11, Monroe, GA 30655. If you decide to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6, you will no longer vote at the elections office, but at your official precinct based on your address. You also can request an absentee ballot mailed to your address to either mail back in before the election date or for you to drop off at the Walton County Board of Elections. Click or tap on this link to request a sample ballot.

As well as the national, state and county posts on the ballot, there also are constitutional amendments and statewide referenda to consider as well as a 1 percent Walton County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax to consider. The sample ballot lists the special projects to be funded in Walton County should the SPLOST be approved.
