COVID-19: Cases, deaths spike in Georgia; local areas

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting seven more deaths, Walton County is reporting two more deaths and Georgia is reporting 70 more deaths in the past 24 hours.

Walton County

Cases – 2,508 – 12 reported in the past 2 hours – 152 in the past 2 weeks .
Cases per 100,000 – 2,619 cumulative (159 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 74 – that’s 2 more death reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 77.2)
Testing 8.6 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.7 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 32,860– that’s 222 reported over the past 24 hours (2,103 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 3,384 cumulative (217 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 472 – That’s 7 more death reported in the past 24 hours (48.6 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 7.6 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.6 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 380 – that is 2,547 more cases reported in the past 24 hours 
ICU admissions – 6,191 – 20 more admission reports in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 32,947 – That’s 141 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 8,403 – That is 70 more death reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 3,807,413 viral tests have been performed and 341,681 antibody tests. That is 21,367 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the viral tests performed collectively, 355,154 (9.3 %) have come back positive and 31,909 (9.3%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 2,101 (9.8 %) viral tests came back positive.
