COVID-19: Deaths, hospitalizations up in Georgia over the past week

Georgia 37, Gwinnett 2, Walton 3 more deaths reported in past 24 hours

Hospitalizations in Georgia are at 1,602 for the week. That’s up from 1,225 hospitalizations last week. The death rate at 169 for the week also is up over the 95 and 107 respectively for the two previous weeks. The last time the state recorded 169 deaths in a week was the week ended June 24.

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting two more death and Walton County is reporting three more deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia is reporting 37 more deaths and 3,871 more cases in the last 24 hours. 

Walton County

Cases – 574 – That’s 17 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 –616.8
Total deaths – 32 – that’s three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 71 – that’s one more hospitalization reported in the past 24 hours

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities (cumulative) No more deaths reported in Walton County nursing homes or assisted living facilities in the last 24 hours.

Park Place, Monroe – 90 confirmed resident cases, 34 confirmed staff cases, 23 deaths reported – that is no more staff member to test positive in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 14 confirmed resident cases, four deaths – that’s one more confirmed case in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville: one confirmed resident case, one reported recovered, two staff cases, no deaths

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, one confirmed staff case, no deaths

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that one resident tested positive for COVID-19, no deaths and one person recovered. It is reporting that 26 of the 56 residents have been tested.

Gwinnett County

Cases – 12,217 – that’s 335 new cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 – 1,258
Total deaths – 189 – that’s two more death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 1,442 – That is 60 more hospitalizations reported in the last 24 hours

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 127,834 – that is 3,871 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions – 2,702 2,662 – that’s 40 more reported in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 14,102 – That’s 417 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours
Total deaths –3,091 – That is 37 more death reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 1,154,983 viral tests have been performed and 187,083 antibody tests. That is 23,949 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the viral tests performed collectively, 11,295, (10.1 %) have come back positive and 9,591 (5.1 %) antibody tests have come back positive.
