COVID-19: Georgia 35, Gwinnett 1, Walton 0 more deaths reported in 24 hours

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3  p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting one more death and Walton County is reporting no more in the last 24 hours. Statewide Georgia is reporting 35 more deaths.

Since opening up following the shutdown, Georgia had dropped from 11th in the nation for the number of deaths reported to 14th and from 12th to 18th for deaths per million. In the last couple of weeks, however, it has lost one place to 13th for deaths and is now tied for 16th in the nation for deaths per 1 million in population. I

Walton County

Cases –331 – That is four more cases in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 –345.5
Total deaths – 23 – that’s no more death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 55 – that’s one more hospitalization in the past 24 hours

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities (cumulative) No more cases or deaths were reported in Walton County nursing homes or assisted living facilities since Friday.

Park Place, Monroe – 90 confirmed resident cases, 33 confirmed staff cases, 21 deaths reported – that is no more deaths reported and one more case reported
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 13 confirmed resident cases, four deaths –
The Retreat at Loganville: one confirmed resident case, one reported recovered no staff cases, no deaths

Gwinnett County

Cases – 5,451 – that’s 143 new cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 – 561.3
Total deaths – 156 – that’s one more death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 798  – That is 15 more hospitalizations reported in the last 24 hours

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 59078 – that is 664 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions – 2,065 – that’s 22 more reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalizations – 9,454 – That’s 206 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours
Total deaths – 2,529 – That is 35 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 747,348 COVID-19 tests have been performed to date, 118,075 of them for antibodies. That is 4,392 more than reported 24 hours ago.
