COVID-19: Georgia 42; Gwinnett 1; Walton 0 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

Cases in Georgia, Gwinnett and Walton, as in the nation, are on the rise

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting one more death, Walton County is reporting no more deaths and Georgia is reporting 42 more death in the past 24 hours. As is the case nationwide and indeed worldwide, cases in the local area are also on the rise.

Walton County

Cases – 2,610 – 17 reported in the past 24 hours – 187 in the past 2 weeks .
Cases per 100,000 – 2,724 cumulative (195 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 75 – that’s 0 more deaths reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 78.3)
Testing 8.7 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.7 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 34,147 – that’s 210 reported over the past 24 hours (2,481 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 3,516 cumulative (255 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 476 – That’s 1 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours (48.8 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 8.4 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.5 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 393,980 – that is 2,562 more cases reported in the past 24 hours 
ICU admissions – 6,306 – 47 more admission reports in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 33,667 – That’s 228 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 8,536 – That is 42 more death reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 3,975,069 viral tests have been performed and 348,580 antibody tests. That is 20,647 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the viral tests performed collectively, 368,548 (9.3 %) have come back positive and 33,136 (9.5%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 2,059 (10.0 %) viral tests came back positive.
