COVID-19: Georgia 95 more; Gwinnett 3 less and Walton 1 less death reported in the past 24 hours

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting three less deaths and Walton County is reporting one less death in the past 24 hours. Georgia is reporting 95 more deaths and 2,615 more cases in the last 24 hours. It is likely that the reduction in deaths reported in Walton and Gwinnett are corrections of the previous day statistics.

Walton County

Cases – 1,355 – 8 in the past 24 hours.
Cases per 100,000 – 1,414 cumulative (264 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 43 – that’s 1 less death reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 45.9)
Testing 11.3 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 10.6 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 22,991 – that’s 205 reported in the past 24 hours 
Cases per 100,000 – 2,367 cumulative (325 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 304 – That’s 3 less deaths reported in the last 24 hours (31.3 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 9.7 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 12.3 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 252,222 – that is 2,615 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions – 4,251 – That’s 33 more ICU admissions in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 23,325 That’s 200 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 5,092 – That is 95 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 2,149,170 viral tests have been performed and 265,893 antibody tests. That is 29,068 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the viral tests performed collectively, 228,623 (10.6 %) have come back positive and 19,488 (7.3%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today, 9.2 % came back positive.

Magnolia Senior Living – Loganville – (Gwinnett County) has 1 staff member who has tested positive

Park Place, Monroe – 90 confirmed resident cases, 34 confirmed staff cases, 23 deaths reported – that is no more staff member to test positive in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 23 confirmed resident cases, four deaths – 16 recovered – That’s no more confirmed case in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville: three confirmed resident case, one reported recovered, two staff cases, no deaths – That’s one more confirmed case in the past 24 hours

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, 1 confirmed staff case, no deaths – That’s no more staff cases reported in past 24 hours

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that 12 residents and 9 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and one resident death was reported. That is two more residents and no more staff members reported positive in the past 24 hours.
