COVID-19: Georgia’s deaths top 3,000; 5 more overnight

Georgia is reporting 2,525 more cases in the past 24 hours, Gwinnett 230, Walton 5

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting one more death and Walton County is reporting no more deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia is reporting five more deaths and 2,525 more cases in the last 24 hours. 

Walton County’s 29 deaths reported to date include 15 males and 14 females. All but one of the victims was over 60 and six of them were over 90. One woman and three men were African American and the other 25 were caucasian.

Walton County

Cases – 543 – That’s five more cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 –566.7
Total deaths – 29 – that’s no more deaths reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 70 – that’s no more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities (cumulative) No more deaths reported in Walton County nursing homes or assisted living facilities in the last 24 hours.

Park Place, Monroe – 90 confirmed resident cases, 34 confirmed staff cases, 23 deaths reported – that is no more staff member to test positive in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 13 confirmed resident cases, four deaths
The Retreat at Loganville: one confirmed resident case, one reported recovered, two staff cases, no deaths

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, one confirmed staff case, no deaths

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that one resident tested positive for COVID-19, no deaths and one person recovered. It is reporting that 26 of the 56 residents have been tested.

Gwinnett County

Cases – 11,304 – that’s 230 new cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 – 1164
Total deaths – 183 – that’s one more death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 1,315 – That is eight more hospitalizations reported in the last 24 hours

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 116,926 – that is 2,525 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions – 2,621 – that’s 11 more reported in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 13,259 – That’s 54 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours
Total deaths –3,001 – That is five more death reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 1,083.416 viral tests have been performed and 183,094 antibody tests. That is 18,543 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours and 2,417 Antibody tests. Of the viral tests performed, 106,089 (9.8 %) have come back positive and 9,367 (5.1 %) antibody tests have come back positive.
