COVID-19: Overall deaths and hospitalizations continue to stabilize or decline

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3  p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Walton County is reporting one more death and Gwinnett County is reporting one less.

Since opening up following the shutdown, Georgia has dropped from 11th in the nation for the number of deaths reported to 14th and from 12th to 18th in the nation for deaths per 1 million in population.

Walton County

Cases – 309– That is two more cases in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 – 322.4
Total deaths – 21 – that’s one more death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 53 – that’s no more in the past 24 hours

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities (cumulative) *No changes over the past 24 hours

Park Place, Monroe – 89 confirmed resident cases, 33 confirmed staff cases, 21 deaths reported – that is no more deaths reported, 3 residents reported recovered
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 13 confirmed resident cases, four deaths, 8 reported recovered

Gwinnett County

Cases – 4,808 – that’s 116 new cases reported in the past 24 hours
Cases per 100,000 – 495.1
Total deaths – 142 – that’s one less death reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalized – 752   – That is 14 more hospitalizations reported in the last 24 hours

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 53,980 – that is 731 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions – 1,991 – that’s 66 more reported in the past 24 hours
Hospitalizations – 8,974 – That’s 102 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours
Total deaths – 2,329 – That is 44 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
