COVID-19: Patient hospitalization trending down

Georgia 13.8%, Walton 18.3%, Gwinnett 11.2% of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients

According to data supplied by the Georgia Department of Public Health, as of Aug. 31, 2020 hospitalization of COVID-19 patients in Georgia hospitals continued to trend downward during August. At 18.3%, Walton County is higher than the average of Gwinnett County at 11.2% and Georgia’s average at 13.8

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting three more deaths and Walton County is reporting no more deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia is reporting 28 more deaths and 1,523 more cases in the last 24 hours. 

Walton County

Cases – 1,466 – 8 reported in the past 24 hours.
Cases per 100,000 – 1,530 cumulative (185 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 47 – that’s no more deaths reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 49.1)
Testing 10.3 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 10.6 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 24,252 182 – that’s 72 reported in the past 24 hours 
Cases per 100,000 – 2,497 cumulative (251 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 336 – That’s 3 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours (34.6 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 8.1 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 12.0%

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 270,471 – that is 1,523 more cases reported in the past 24 hours
ICU admissions –4,493 – that’s four more reported in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 24,604 That’s 32 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 5,632 – That is 28 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

A total of 2,343,634 viral tests have been performed and 278,200 antibody tests. That is 16,144 viral test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the viral tests performed collectively, 247,592 (10.6 %) have come back positive and 21,369 (7.7%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today, 10.9 % came back positive.

Great Oak, Monroe – 2 staff members and 2 resident at Great Oaks is reported in the past 24 hours as testing positive – there has been 1 resident death

Magnolia Senior Living – Loganville – (Gwinnett County) has 1 staff member who has tested positive

Park Place, Monroe – 90 confirmed resident cases, 34 confirmed staff cases, 23 deaths reported – that is no more staff member to test positive in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 23 confirmed resident cases, four deaths – 19 recovered – That’s no more confirmed case in the past 24 hours
The Retreat at Loganville: three confirmed resident case, three reported recovered, two staff cases, no deaths – That’s no more confirmed case in the past 24 hours

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, 1 confirmed staff case, no deaths – That’s no more staff cases reported in past 24 hours

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that 17 residents and 10 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and one resident death was reported. That is no more residents or staff members reported positive in the past 24 hours.
