COVID-19: Walton cases 19 and 1 death: Georgia death toll 211; Confirmed cases 6647 with 1283 hospitalized

19  cases reported in Walton County – One death reported at this time

The Georgia Department of Health is reporting the first death in Walton County. According to the statistics reported at noon on Sunday, April 5, 2020, the person who did not survive COVID-19 is a 75-year-old male. It is unknown if he had any underlying conditions.

Walton County now has 19 reported cases and one death. Casey Collins and his mother, Shirley, are currently quarantined in Loganville after Collins’s father passed away in Gwinnett Medical Center Saturday. It is possible this is the one case that has now been transferred to Walton County as Gwinnett County that was previously reporting eight deaths is now reporting seven and it was a 75-year-old male who is no longer being reported as a Gwinnett County death. Gwinnett County now is reporting 408 cases with seven deaths so far from COVID-19. Four of the deaths are men and three are women, all over 60 years of age.
