COVID-19: Walton, Gwinnett and Georgia positive test results are on the rise

Walton County’s positive rate for past two weeks is almost 15 % of those tested

Walton County’s positive COVID-19 test results are rising as are the rest of Georgia. Gwinnett County’s positive rate is also on the rise, but not quite as significantly as for Walton County and Georgia. The positive rate for Gwinnett County for the past two weeks is 10.8 %. For Walton County it is 14.8 % and today positive rate for Georgia is 14.4 %.

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting Seven more deaths, Walton County is reporting one more deaths and Georgia is reporting 35 more deaths in the past 24 hours. 

Walton County

Cases – 2,952 – 39 reported in the past 24 hours – 329 in the past 2 weeks .
Cases per 100,000 – 3,081cumulative (343 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 78 – that’s 1 more death reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 81.4)
Testing 14.8 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 10.1 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 37,488 – that’s 427 reported over the past 24 hours (3,320 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 3,860 cumulative (342 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 501 – That’s 7 more death reported in the past 24 hours (51.6 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 10.8 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.6 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 428,980 – that is 4,094 more cases reported in the past 24 hours 
ICU admissions – 6,569 – 33 more admission reports in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 35,326 – That’s 263 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 8,830 – That is 35 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

An additional 1,800 Antigen positive cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,362,964 PCR/Molecular tests have been performed and 365,326 antibody tests. That is 23,997 PCR/Molecular test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the these tests performed collectively, 402,092 (9.2 %) have come back positive and 36,264 (9.9%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 3,451 (14.4 %) PCR/Molecular tests came back positive.
