Fluker unseats Schrader in runoff for Gwinnett County Superior Court

Deborah Fluker won the Nov. 11 runoff to unseat embattled Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Kathryn “Kathy” Schrader.

According to the Secretary of State’s unofficial results, Fluker earned 28,006 or 59.22 % of the 47,289 votes cast to Schrader’s 19,283 or 40.78 % of the votes.

Fluker was the sole practitioner and owner of the Fluker Law Firm, PC and was appointed as an Associate Municipal Court Judge in the City of Suwanee Municipal Court where she served from 2013 to 2016. In May 2016, Fluker was appointed to serve as a full-time Magistrate Court Judge in Gwinnett County and in 2019, she was appointed to serve as an Associate Judge in the City of Dacula Municipal Court.

Fluker is married to veteran law enforcement officer Reginald Fluker. The couple have two children who attend Gwinnett County schools.
