The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising that from Monday to Wednesday, June 26 – 28, there will be single lane closures on the State Route 20 between Sugar Hill Road and James Burgess Road for the SR 20 widening project. These lane closures will be between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and during these hours traffic will intermittently be reduced to one lane in each direction.
This work continues the widening of SR 20 by adding the fiber optic cable to create communication between the corridor’s traffic signals. Motorists are aked to be alert as this work can create minor delays. Drivers need to slow down as they approach the work zone as Georgia DOT contractors will be in close proximity to travel lanes.
