After a 12-week session, next Monday, Dec. 9, is the graduation and a public reading for students of the Georgia Writers Project, a program hosted at the Monroe Walton Center for the Arts.
“I can’t express how wonderful it’s been getting to know this group of kids,” said Jessica Hudgins, the founder of GWP. “To celebrate the students’ graduation from the program, GWP is hosting a public reading. The event will be held from 5:30-6:30, is free and open public and will be headlined by the Georgia Poet Laureate, Chelsea Rathburn. The event will be catered, and the Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts’ ‘Gifts from the HeArt’ holiday gift shop and exhibit is in full swing. There is plenty of parking in front of and behind the MWCA.”
The GWP is supported by Georgia Humanities, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, through funding from the Georgia General Assembly.
