Valedictorian – Spring Rawl
Rawl will attend Georgia Tech and plans to study statistics or business. She said she feels honored to be named GWA Class of 2020 valedictorian.
“I see it as a representation of not only my work, but also the amazing support I’ve received from my parents, teachers, and friends during my high school career,” Rawl said. While there are some things she will miss about high school, she is looking forward to the next stage of her life.
“I will miss the close-knit atmosphere of my class that I’ve grown up with since first grade and feeling at home when I’m on campus,” she said, adding “I’m looking forward to becoming more independent and making new friends.”
Salutatorian – Jenna Lo
Lo will attend Wake Forest University in the fall. She is undecided on a major but is leaning toward psychology. She is thankful for being named GWA’s Class of 2020 salutatorian.
“While I am thankful for the recognition, I am more appreciative of the opportunities and the things I learned along the way,” Lo said. She said there are things she will miss from high school – besides the school’s chocolate chip cookies.
“The teachers. They really challenged and encouraged me through the years, and I couldn’t have asked for a more devoted faculty,” she said. She is however looking forward to her college years. “I’m looking forward to gaining more real-world experience and meeting new people.”
