I-85 Widening project requires nightly lane closures in Gwinnett, Barrow and Jackson counties

BRASELTON – Construction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.

Beginning Monday night, asphalt paving will necessitate single lane closures along I-85 in both directions between SR 211 in Barrow County to Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County. Bridge construction activity will necessitate single lane closures in both directions between SR 211 and SR 53 in Jackson County. Work will occur nightly from Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.

Traffic pacing activity will also occur Monday through Saturday night. Pacing activities will take place in both directions between SR 211 and Hamilton Mill Road. Pacing will begin at 9 p.m. nightly and continue until 5 a.m. each morning.
