Independence Day Celebrations begin this weekend in Walton County

People looking for an Independence Day Celebration a little early have a couple of options this weekend.

Loganville will celebrate Independence Day Saturday, June 27, with food, fun, live music and fireworks at West Walton Park. There will be activities, food vendors will be on-site and a DJ will provide the music leading up to the live concert. This year again Journey cover band Departure will be providing live music, taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks follow the concert. West Walton Park is located at 925 Twin Lakes Rd, Loganville, GA 30052, USA map
Social Circle will have a fireworks display on Saturday, June 27. There will be no vendors or live entertainment this year so you will need to bring your own food and drinks. The fireworks are expected to begin at or around 9:30 p.m. You can bring blankets, chairs and picnics to sit on the field and enjoy the fireworks. Social Distancing will be encouraged!
Annie P. Henderson Drive will be closed to traffic in advance from 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Stephen’s Park Field will open at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks also can be seen from South Walton Parking lots, Downtown Social Circle, Freshway and behind Blue Willow.
Available parking areas are shown on the map below.
For anybody who prefers to celebrate Independence Day on the traditional day, which also happens to be on a Saturday this year, the City of Monroe is offering a Hometown July 4th Celebration with food, fun, fireworks and music on the Athens Tech Campus from 3 p.m. on July 4th.
