Lane’s BBQ is opening a retail store at 127 N. Lumpkin St., Monroe and Black Friday is the first official day of operation. According to owner Ryan Lane, Friday will be a soft opening and Small Business Saturday is when they hope to really make their mark in the community. And just for good measure, all their current weekly sales items will be available at the store thru to Dec. 2.
“Friday we open but Saturday we will be serving some food as well. We will have some tacos and our favorite BBQ snacks to munch on,” Lane said. “People can stop in here for a bite and then go next door for a pint.”
The retail store (former Rinse warehouse next to Southern Brewing Company) is a sort of general store that will be carrying all of Lane’s BBQ’s rubs and sauces for those die-hard backyard BBQ kings and queens as well as some associated specialty items. There also will be some manufacturing done there at some point, but for the moment the manufacturing and catering will continue to take place at the Bethlehem location. Lane pointed out some of the items they have, which include the now internationally distributed Lane’s BBQ rubs and sauces, grills and accessories, yeti products and some local pottery. Lane said they will also be putting together some gift baskets for that special person on your list!
Lane starting selling BBQ off his own pit at a roadside produce stand back in 2013 before launching his own line of seasonings and sauces. Now, a short six years later, the venture has grown to a fully-fledged company with products sold all over the US as well as Australia, Canada and the UK – and now a retail store in Monroe.
