The Walton County Board of Commissioners will be voting on the 2018 Millage during the August 2018 BOC meeting at 6 p.m. tonight, Aug. 7, 2018. This will be preceded at 5 p.m. by the last of three public hearings necessary due to the fact that property owners will be paying an average of 2.68 percent over the rollback millage rate for the Incorporated Cities of Loganville, Monroe, Social Circle, the Unincorporated County and the Cities of Jersey, Walnut Grove, Good Hope, and Between. Although the millage rate will remain at 10.905 mills as it was last year, the increase is due to the increase in property values.
The meetings will take place at the Historic Walton County Courthouse on S. Broad Street in Monroe. The public is invited to both meetings. The full agenda of the BOC meeting follows.
