Results from this week’s local high school football games

Friday night routine returns with local teams beginning the 2019 Football season in high spirits. Not all the games finished as the would have liked though, but hey, it’s still early in the season. Here are how the games turned out.

Loganville went down to Morgan County 17 – 38 after lightning delayed the game at the start. The Red Devils play at home on Aug. 30 against the Monroe Area High School Hurricanes in the inaugural Freedom Bowl played in honor of the local three fallen heroes of the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

MAHS took the first game against Apalachee 18 – 7. The Hurricanes travel to Loganville Aug. 30 to take on the Red Devils in the inaugural Freedom Bowl played in honor of the local three fallen heroes of the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Walnut Grove’s Varsity team lost its opening game of the season with George Walton Academy taking the game 7 – 37. The Walnut Grove Warriors have next week off before traveling to Morgan County on Sept. 6. GWA’s Bulldogs also get a break next week and will host Stratford Academy out of Macon at home on Sept. 6. Kickoff for both games is 7:30

Loganville Christian Academy cleaned up at home Friday, keeping Bethlehem Christian Academy completely off the scoreboard with a 47 – 0 win. The LCA Lions play again at home on Aug. 30 when they take on Creekside Christian Academy. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
