Loganville Interim Fire Chief Tim Johnson was named to the position permanently on Thursday, April 9, 2020. It was announced at the Loganville City Council Meeting. Johnson has been serving as the interim chief since August 2019 when the former fire chief Carl Morrow resigned to accept a position with Walton County as EMA Director.

Prior to his appointment as interim chief, Johnson served as the assistant fire marshal. Johnson has been a firefighter for almost 25 years, beginning his career first as a volunteer with the Loganville Fire Department before joining the city full-time in 2007. He was promoted to lieutenant on truck 15 before eventually accepting a position in the city’s Fire Marshal’s Office, where he served as captain and assistant fire marshal. He was also named the Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association’s Official of the Year in 2014.
