Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Wesley Adam Glaze, of Loganville Thursday on five counts of sexual exploitation of children for alleged possession of child pornography. Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman said the arrest is a result of an investigation initiated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Internet Crime Against Children Task Force.

“The GBI has a unit that does these internet sex crimes and they’re so overwhelmed that often times they will ask the local jurisdiction to investigate it,” Chapman said. “In this instance, the GBI advised us of the situation and provided the evidence and we worked the case and made the arrest.”

Capt. Scott Pecore with WCSO, who worked the case, said that he is part of a task force  working with the GBI.

“I have an investigator and when the GBI gets information that leads them to believe a person is involved in child pornography in any way, they send us a tip and we work the case,” Pecore said. “These cases come in quite a bit. Some are unfounded and some are not. In this case we found that the individual was involved in researching child pornography and downloading images to his computer.”

Pecore said that Glaze turned himself in on May 18 and is currently being held at the Walton County Detention Center charged with the five counts of sexual exploitation. According to jail records, Glaze is being held on $25,000 bond on each charge.
