Loganville kicks off the Groovin on the Green concert series Friday with the Swingin Medallions 7:30pm on the Town Green in Loganville. Weather promises to be “mostly sunny.” You’re invited to bring your cooler, lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the sounds of the Swingin Medallions, a band labelled the Party Band of the South by Southern writer Lewis Grizzard. The diverse brand of music is popular with college audiences as well as older rock and roll fans. The band’s initial claim to fame came from its 1.2 million selling hit album, “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love”, in 1966 as well as “Hey, Hey Baby,” in 1969 as well as others.
Beer and wine are permitted and will also be sold at the event. Food vendors will be on hand. For more information on the band visit www.medallions.com.
The music begins at 7:30 p.m. and ends at around 10 p.m
