A man has been charged with terroristic threats/acts and aggravated assault with a firearm after he allegedly shot another man at a home in the unincorporated Loganville area of Walton County in the early morning hours of Dec. 13, 2018. Timothy Crowe, 47, was shot in the leg during the incident. Ricky Alan Easterwood was arrested in Gwinnett County in connection with the shooting this morning.
According to the incident report from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an address on Highway 20 regarding reports of a man shot. The home they responded to only reported hearing the shots and that Crowe came to the location to confront Easterwood. They went to Crowe’s address where they were advised by a family member that Crowe had indeed been shot at the home they had initially responded to. Police then returned to that address and cleared the home. A report from another location of a man shot had some responding to that address while other deputies questioned the residents who were at the home where the shooting allegedly took place. The story, with supporting video surveillance, appeared to indicate that Crowe had responded to the home on Highway 20 after been told by a resident from there to call 911 as Easterwood was allegedly attempting to force his way in. According to the report, the video surveillance allegedly showed Easterwood arrive at the home, sitting in his car for a while before exiting and walking around the home, crouching near windows, attempting to break the porch light out with a handgun and attempting to kick in the back door. He was also allegedly seen holding a 2 x 4. Crowe is subsequently seen arriving and walking up before he and Easterwood disappear from view. The video allegedly showed another man arrive on a bicycle, then drop the bicycle and run away. Easterwood is seen coming back into view and going to his car. Crowe is then seen coming back into, limping, before collapsing.
The residents at the address were transported to a safe location while deputies searched for Easterwood. He was subsequently arrested today and is currently being held in the Walton County Detention Center on $19,000 bond.
Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
