Southern Brewery has been open in Monroe for more than two weeks now and employees from the City of Monroe were given a courtesy “Happy Hour” Wednesday as a show of appreciation for the help given in making it a reality.
“The city of Monroe generally, and too many people to name specifically, have been super supportive in getting Southern Brewing to Monroe over the last year, and more so in the last 3 or 4 months,” said Dan Flynn, manager of the Monroe location and director of Tap Room Development and Management. “Every person any of our team encountered was and has been excited, hospitable, and eager to be helpful in every way that they could. They made it easier and pleasant throughout the process. We greatly appreciate that, and wanted to show it.
Flynn said about 40 or so people from the city stopped by Southern Brewery for Happy Hour and Monroe Fire Department Batallion Chief ‘Captain Jack’ Armstrong did a stint as a guest barman for the occasion. Armstrong said he really enjoyed it.
