If you’re in the market for some new cowboy boots, or maybe some high quality work boots, you will no longer have to go far to find that perfect pair.

Broad Street Boots, located at 131 Broad Street in downtown Monroe, Ga., is the first retail venture for local residents Jay and Micke Roberts. Jay Roberts said his difficulty in finding good quality work boots for himself in a previous career was the inspiration for opening the store.

“We have lived in Monroe for 12 years. Coming from a construction background, I feel there is a need for a local place that specializes in work and western footwear in Walton county,” he said.

The store will carry western and work boots as well as some other accessories.

“We carry boots for the entire family, men’s, women’s and youth sizes – starting a size 1. We will also have shoe care items, socks, wallets, belts, buckles, fashion jewelry, western hats and baseball hats,” Roberts said. “We strive to have very competitive pricing on our products.”

The Grand Opening is scheduled for this Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m., and the store is offering some Grand Opening specials to help get you in the door.

“For the grand opening we are offering $20 off any $100 purchase – this will be valid for January 14th and 15th,” Roberts said. “In addition we will be having a drawing for a Yeti cooler. Starting on the 14th, you just need to stop by and toss an entry in the cooler. The drawing will be held a month later on Saturday Feb. 11th.”

You can like and follow the store on Facebook to find out what new items are in or what specials may be offered. Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
