Monroe PD: Drug overdose, social media harassment, fraud and disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 19 – 25, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile Complaint, Glen Iris, reference to sister calling because her 15-year-old brother would not come home from his friend’s house. While officers were on location the brother returned home all ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Booth Dr., reference to a male in a F-250 yelling at a woman walking. Negative contact with either party.
  • Police Escort, Piedmont Walton, male subject requested a ride from the hospital to his residence Lakeview Drive.
  • Person Shot, Glen Iris Dr., reference to a male subject shot with a firearm. CID notified and responded
  • 911 hung up, Harvest Ln., a complainant called in reference to her son showing up causing problems over property.  Parties separated.
  • Suspicious person, Ford St., male subject on scene feeling like he was drugged. Turned over to EMS.
  • Harassment, Plaza Dr. The complainant had questions about what he could do about someone harassing him on social media. He was advised of available remedies.
  • Meet with Piedmont Walton.  Reference to male subject overdosing. Subject not in his right state of mind but requested to speak with officer.
  • Meet with Harry’s BP, male subject from above requesting to meet with an officer again.  Subject had moved and was headed to the vape shop.  Was located on Michael Etchison.  Told to not call 911 unless it was an emergency.
  • Suspicious Person, Davis St/Pine Park St., Black female begging for money. Female was advised to go home.
  • Fraud report taken at Monroe PD lobby. Complainant reporting that a named female had taken his debit card and some checks and had made withdrawals and cashed checks.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Blaine St., a 17-year-old student with autism, left school. The subject was located in front of the National Guard Armory. He agreed to get into the vehicle with faculty, so they could drive him home.
  • Dispute, S. Broad St., Civil matter over lot rent.
  • Dispute, St. Ives Walk, the complainant reported that a verbal dispute became physical with the builder. Report taken.
  • Meet with, S. Madison/E. Spring St., subject from earlier calls requested officer again about non-emergency issues.  He was advised if he contacts 911 again for a non-emergency he will be placed under arrest.
  • Civil Issue, West Spring St., Two Peas and a Pod, reference to business owners calling about one party changing the locks on the door. They were both advised of civil remedies.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Jagged Edge Salon, reference to four teenagers in a vehicle driving around the parking lot while one of them sat on the hood of the vehicle. Conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., Trading Post, Complainant advise customer refused to leave the store. Advised remedies. The customer left the store. All ok.
  • Theft, Walton Rd., met with a complainant who advised that her lawn mower and blower are missing. Report made.
  • Unknown Law, Alcovy Street Legion, reference to Spencer Seay receiving a call from an unknown juvenile female asking for her mother. Units were able to locate the subject who resides in Riverdale. Local Police Department was contacted for a welfare check at the residence.
  • 911 Hang-Up, Pine Circle, dispatch advised they heard heavy static on the line, conducted an area check with negative contact. Possibly weather related.
