Monroe PD Report: Domestic disputes, car hit by rock and shooting incident

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between Aug. 11 – 17, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassing Phone Calls report taken at S Broad St., complainant stated her ex-husband is making false claims to DFACS and other organizations in an attempt to get her in trouble.
  • Shoplifting at Family Dollar, employee stated a white female took store items and ran out.  Report taken.
  • Theft, Lanius St., mother stated her son was being harassed by older kids in the neighborhood.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., in reference to four subjects fighting. Two subjects gone when officers arrived. report taken.  Conflicting statements and no warrants taken.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd in reference to two subjects disputing on whether he had to leave or not.  Male subject agreed to grab some clothes and leave the residence for the evening.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on N Broad St & E Marable St.  In reference to a vehicle and its lights left on.  Vehicle owner was located and all was ok.
  • Hit & Run, Michael Cir., complainant reported a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot of Taco Bell.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, Cook St., male and female subjects disputing over male living at that location or not.  Male stated he would stay elsewhere for the evening.  All ok.
  • Person Shot, Wheelhouse Ln., complainant stated a round entered her residence and she heard several shots.  Damacion Rivers was located at Piedmont in Covington with a gunshot wound to his left leg.  Mr. Rivers was arrested for active warrants.  Search warrant executed.  Stenny Smith and Amber Lee arrested on separate charges.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, J&B Food Mart., subject bought a cigarette and left the store.  Owner believes subject stole lottery tickets the day before.  Subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious Person, Tall Oaks Dr.,  in reference to a black male on property that was told not to return earlier in the day.  Conducted an area check of the surrounding streets but did not locate the suspicious male.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Highway 138 in reference to a black Impala failing to maintain its lane. Vehicle stopped and driver, driver cited for failure to maintain lane and following too closely.
  • Damage to Property, North Broad Street. Complainant advised a rock struck her vehicle while traveling on Highway 78.
  • Warrant Service, Alcovy Street, Vanessa Meadows arrested for violation of probation through the Sheriff’s Office.
  • Domestic, West Spring Street, complainant advised they have patient who’s scheduled to have a C-Section on Saturday. Patient advised the father of the child is trying to kidnap the baby and doesn’t need to know when she’s in the hospital. Complainant said he’s come to the hospital asking for patient and disputing with staff. MPD had dispatch advised Rockdale to conduct a welfare check on patient at this residence. Advised of remedies.
  • Welfare Check, Mobley Circle. DFCS attempting to make contact with parents along with their children. Negative contact. DFCS spoke with the sister of one and advised her to contact them immediately.
