Monroe PD Reports: 2-year-old finds gun on playground, Bedbug poison suicide attempt and washer/dryer stolen off front porch

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 9 – 16, 2017. Due to the length of the report, it has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Issue, Carver Place, complainant disputing with his ex-girlfriend about tools left at her house in Rockdale County. Complainant was advised of the civil process and advised of temporary protection order due to his ex-threatening not to return tools. All ok.
  • Dispute near Carmichael Drugs, Reference to female subject disputing with couple over female subject parking in front of the store to let her disabled sister-in-law out at the door, then continued to sit there waiting on her to return. The couple took pictures of female subject parked in front of the store, female subject was unhappy about them taking pictures. Situation mediated, female subject given verbal warning about parking in a no parking zone.
  • Threats, West Marable St., Reference to a civil dispute over property and living arrangements. Report taken.
  • Officer to Meet at S. Broad St.  with complainant stated her mother did not receive her Boost Mobile Cellphone back from the Walton CountyJail and was told to contact Monroe PD. Complainant was advised Officers will follow up with Arresting Officer. Supplemental Report added.
  • Dispute, Clearview, medical patient being belligerent, screaming and yelling.  Hospital staff was able to medicate the subject and he went to sleep.  All ok.
  • Meet With complainant on Alcovy St., who was requesting information on the city noise ordinance. All ok.
  • Dispute, Claywill Circle, Dispute between brothers. Situation Mediated. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, W Spring St.  Mr. Bobby Campbell was said to be panhandling at the Chevron. Contact was made with Mr. Campbell in the back-parking lot of Longhorns. He provided a false name to the officers and after a short foot chase Mr. Campbell was Tased. WTBT for Interference with Gov. property and Giving false names to a Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Warrant Service, Alcovy St., Georgia Probation Management, Kandyce Watson was on location with a valid warrant for her arrest. Mrs. Watson was arrested and turned over to the Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Theft, South Broad St., complainant who lives on Claywill Circle advised he has seen juveniles near his mailbox and feels they are possibly stealing his mail. He was advised to call next time he sees the juveniles.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Midland Ave., Made contact with complainant who advised that his ex-boyfriend was possibly in the area stalking him. Officer checked the area and did not have any contact with a black passenger car.
  • Theft, East Church St., complainant said someone came into her yard and stole a post with a cast iron bell on it.  Report Taken.
  • Suicide attempt, West 5th St., Reference to male subject drinking an unknown amount of bed bug poison and running into the wood line behind the residence.  WCSO K-9 Falco called to the scene and located male subject in the woods behind the residence.  Male subject was turned over to Walton County EMS pending a mental evaluation.
  • Violent Dispute, Ridge Rd., Onsite manager heard shouting coming from an Apartment. Officer made contact with female and male subjects. Male subject was on the phone with a family member about a theft that had occurred in Athens and was upset. Female was trying to calm him down. All ok.
  • Fight, Davis St., two females showed up to fight one female.  Numerous subjects on scene and most intoxicated and the rest did not see anything.  Report taken.
  • Theft, Towler St., complainant said someone removed her mail from her mailbox   Report taken.
  • Theft in progress, East Church St., Reference to the occupants of a Silver PT Cruiser taking items from the Goodwill box. Complainant did not want to meet with officers. Checked the Goodwill box and it appeared that someone climb into the box and removed clothing.
  • Found Property, Rose Ison Terrace, mother advised her 2-year-old nephew found a .22 caliber pistol on the playground. The pistol was placed into evidence.
  • Follow Up, Sorrells St., complainant who wanted to advise that her sister is still verbally arguing with her. Supplemental added to report.
  • Dispute, Clearview Regional.  Daniel Jackson arrested for disorderly conduct.
  • Suspicious Person, Hwy 138 & City Limits.  Contact was made with a vehicle matching the description, but no traffic violations observed.
  • Dispute, W. Spring St. Made contact with the cashier who advised a customer was holding up the line. The customer was GOA all ok.
  • Dispute, Michael Circle. Complainant stated her 20-year-old son didn’t want to give her the keys to the car but did so after the police were called.  All ok.
  • Burglary, West Tall Oaks, home owners came home to find their back door open with its window smashed by a brick along with their living room television and a Cellphone missing. Report Taken.
  • Officer’s to meet with complainant on East Spring St., who was asking about a homeless shelter. She stated she was going to stay with her daughter at the Monroe Motor inn.
  • Theft Report, Harris Street in reference to complainant’s washer and dryer being stolen off of her front porch last night, she stated they last saw them around 2200hour last night, report taken.
  • Dispute, East Spring St., Taylors in reference to the complainant wanting to get items that don’t belong to her out of a car in impound, complainant was GOA, Taylors employees did not know the complainant’s name.
  • Theft, Sorrells St., in reference to a stolen newspaper.  Complainant requesting extra patrol around the hours or 0400-0600 due to his newspaper being stolen.  Advised this is the 2nd time its happen to him.
  • Traffic Stop, Kalongi Vereen pulled over for a cracked tail light lenses and a brake light out.  Mr. Vereen was out on bond for his 3rd driving on a suspended license offense.  Mr. Vereen was cited and arrested for his 4th driving on suspended license offense.  Contact was made with Walton County Probate Court who advised Officer’s to arrest Mr. Vereen and that the 2 pending cases would be merged and sent to superior court for felony habitual violator charges.
  • Medical Subject Disputing, South Broad St. at Lee Legacy PCH. Complainant advised one of the residents called because she was disputing with a male subject about him taking and wearing his roommates jacket. She advised he would not take off the jacket. Male subject advised he had permission to wear the jacket and his roommate was not on location. Male subject was advised to give back the jacket if his roommate asked for it back. All okay.
  • Wanted Person, South Madison Ave Southeast Corrections in reference to Kevin Mitchell having a warrant for probation violation out of the City of Monroe, Mitchell was transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to Jail staff without Incident.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Quality Foods parking lot in reference to a black Nissan Enterra driving erratically then left heading west bound on West Spring Street. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Wendy’s in reference to a red vehicle throwing a beer bottle out.  Vehicle was stopped, and driver admitted to throwing the beer out.  Negative on DUI.  Cited for littering.
  • Suspicious Person, West Vine St., Conestoga Trailer Park in reference to an older black male in a brown coat soliciting the complainant. Made contact with the complainant whom stated a named subject came up to her looking for work then solicited her for sex while she was holding her infant son. Located subject. Name given was not correct name, got correct name. He stated he was not sure if he actually lived at that residence and thought he might have permission to be on the property. He also stated he only asked the complainant for work and never solicited her. Spoke to the landlord who verified that subject has permission to stay on property.
  • Threat complainant taken at Monroe PD Lobby.  Complainant advised her child’s father’s girlfriend, sent her threatening text messages.  Complainant stated she was already in the process of obtaining a PO.  Complainant advised to take the messages to magistrate court as further evidence for obtaining the TPO.
  • Suicide Attempt, South Broad St., not a suicide subject was having a diabetic episode and was turned over to Walton EMS.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78/Unisia Drive. Linearie Briscoe stopped for crack in windshield.  Subject gave a false name, had a warrant for his arrest out of Athens Clarke.  Subject had a stolen gun in the car and was a convicted felon.  Warrant to be taken.
  • Theft, Wheelhouse Lane in reference to theft of a gun. The firearm is .32acp stainless semi auto of unknown make and model, also unknown serial number. Report taken.
