Monroe PD Reports: 911 hangup was juveniles looking for help with tying shoe laces

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 1 – 7, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • 911 Hang-up, Green St., Dispatch advised an open line with what sounded like a male and female arguing, and then disconnected.  Attempted call back with no success.  Call was pin mapped to this address, Officer check Green Street.  Unable to make contact with anyone. Spoke with neighbors outside who stated they had not heard anyone arguing this morning.  No signs of anything suspicious.
  • Abandoned Property, East Spring St., Two bicycles found lying on top of a large bush next to the fence that separates East Spring Street, and FISH. After investigating, the bicycles had price tags on them, and were thrown over the fence from FISH. Bicycles were returned to FISH.
  • Theft, Milledge Ave., employee stated she dropped her wallet while moving items outside of the store. Stated she was going to go back later and get the wallet. When she went back to retrieve it, the wallet was gone. Stated a named former employee, was also on location and believes he may have taken the wallet.  Officer made contact with former employee on West Marable St.  The former employee stated he never saw a wallet, and would not steal from a former co-worker.  There was no camera footage or any other evidence showing that the former employee took the wallet.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, Alcovy St., Reference to a dispute over property. Kim Bartlett was arrested for DOC after a brief tussle. A Use of Force will be completed.
  • Dispute, S Broad St (Wells Fargo) complainant attempted to withdraw 500 out of her account and the ATM did not give her any money. After checking her account, it showed the 500 being taken out. She was advised to call customer service and speak to a representative.
  • Harassment, Green St., complainant complained of subjects talking to her as she walks to the store and goes to church. Mediated the situation. Ok.
  • Wanted Person, Tanglewood Dr., Ervin Sutton witnessed walking on Broad Street with an active warrant out of Morgan County. Subject arrested and taken to the Walton County Jail.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., male and female subjects were disputing over property. Parties were separated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, E Church St (Chevron) Complainant advised a black female was drinking a beer in her vehicle. Upon Officer arrival, subject was gone.
  • Meet with Officer, West Spring St., Subject requested an officer stand by while conducting a Craigslist transaction.
  • Damage to Property, Store House Court. Reference damage to windows. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Davis St. Caller advised four black males smoking weed and passing a gun around. Officer made contact with 4 juveniles, all was ok, no guns or weed could be seen or smelled.
  • 911 Hang up, East Tall Oaks. Officer made contact with multiple juveniles. The juveniles called 911 because they needed help tying their shoes. All was ok
  • Suspicious Person, 4th St., Caller advised a white female with blonde hair was walking in people’s yards and on their porches. Officer checked the area with negative contact. All 10-4
  • 911 Hang-Up, MLK Jr. Blvd. Reference to a disgruntled employee. The employee was gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious Person/ Wanted Subject located on Lacy St., Officer made contact with Clinton Foster whom has a warrant from Spalding County. Attempted to arrest and Foster became combative. Jail refused him due to complaint of injury. Transported him to Clearview where he was admitted. Released on copy of citation and advised Spalding Co.
  • Suspicious person, “Hot Spot” on E. Marable, regards to intoxicated male instore refusing to leave. Contact made w/subject and he was sent on his way.
  • Suspicious person/vehicle, W. Spring St., regards to a black male in black passenger car and smelled of alcohol. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, Clearview. Clinton Foster was arrested for DOC and refused by Walton County Jail due to Foster complaining of neck pain. Foster was taken to Clearview for treatment and released on citation but had outstanding warrant through Spaulding county. Foster left Clearview against medical advice and could not be located.
  • Office’s called to Creekview Dr., complainant stated a dark gray passenger vehicle pulled into driveway earlier and subjects rang her doorbell and knocked on door and then left due to complainant scared to answer door. Extra patrol requested.
  • Suspicious person, N. Madison Ave. (Market) regards to hearing a person yelling. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, N. Madison Ave., regards to B/M walking and stumbling in roadway. Area checked w/negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, Valero, regards to black male on location yelling at customers. Contact made with subject and sent on his way.
  • Loitering, W. Spring St. (Chevron), regards to multiple vehicles and teenagers on scene blocking parking and gas pumps. Contact made, and all advised of loitering and sent on way.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart. Management decided not to pursue charges against female subject due exigent circumstances. All ok.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle/arrest on Kelton Rd. at Cloverdale Dr.  Edward Walton was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (over 1 oz.) and Possession of Cocaine as well as Speeding.
  • Follow-up, 4th St., regards to drug activity. Residence checked, and all was ok. Male subject was only person on scene.
  • Dispute, Magnolia Terr., regards to subject refusing to leave residence. Complainant advised subject was gone prior to arrival.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Church’s Chicken and headed to Meadow Walk subdivision regards to gray Ford Crown Victoria w/ big chrome wheels followed caller from Church’s to neighborhood. Area checked with negative contact.
