Monroe PD Reports: Accident results in arrest for escapee from Tennessee

Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for March 2 – 8, 2018. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Animal Complaint at Walton Street in reference to a gray in color pitbull chasing people, made contact with the complaint and he advised the k9 lives at  Walton Circle. Officer relocated and made contact with the owner of the k9, he advised he brought her into the yard while doing some yard work and she got off the leash. The owner had the k9 back on the leash and took her inside, he was advised of the leash law. Everything on location ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Matthews Park – Subjects were parking after dark smoking marijuana.  They were in a gray Honda Civic.  No marijuana was located.
  • Fire Assist at 1 Bulldog Drive – George Walton Academy in reference to fire in the field house laundry room.  Upon arrival officer used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out before it spread out of the drier.
  • Stranded Motorist on Michael Etchison Road in reference to vehicle being pushed by SUV. No contact with either vehicle.
  • Warrant Attempt at West Tall Oaks in reference to a wanted subject having a warrant out of Walton County, negative contact.
  • Traffic Wreck HWY 78 on the East Marable bridge.  A semi hit the guardrail, damaging the west bound bridge on Hwy 78.  GSP, GDOT and hazmat responded.
  • Threats Report West Tall Oaks Drive in reference to complainant’s receiving a call from complainant’s wife and his brother. Brother is in Atlanta drunk and was making verbal threats over the phone stating he was coming to Monroe to fight. Report taken.
  • Wanted Person Located on Hwy 78 in reference the accident the passenger had a warrant out of TN for Escape.  Subject was arrested and transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Juvenile Complaint  East Marable Street in reference to mother stating her daughter not getting ready for school fast enough and trying to miss the bus. The situation was mediated, and the daughter got on the bus and is on her way to school.
  • Dispute at South Broad Street – Hardee’s in reference to a white male disputing about an order and shouting profanity. Contact made with Employee stating the subject attempted to pay for his order with a counterfeit $50, then disputed for a refund after giving correct payment. The subject was gone when officers arrived, counterfeit bill taken to be turned into evidence.
  • Burglary Report, Atha Street. Complainant stated that someone entered her residence between last date at 0500 hours and this date at 0700 hours and took an HP Laptop, a Tablet, and cash money. She suspects her neighbor. No serial numbers at this time. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Wellington Lane in reference to a red Jetta occupied by three males driving slowly through the neighborhood. Traffic stop was conducted on vehicle on Miranda Ridge Drive at Thompson Ridge Drive. Driver advised they were conducting an HOA inspection for the neighborhood. Everything okay.
  • Fight in the area of Davis Street in reference to several subjects fighting and possibly having a gun. Several males located at Davis Street, but no one was fighting nor knew anything. An eviction was in process at that location. Everything okay.
  • Child Custody at South Broad Street. Complainant disputing with his child’s mother over visitation and child support. Mother was GOA and complainant was informed of civil remedies.
  • Dispute at East Spring Street – DQ. Manager advised an angry customer attempted to return food because he wanted onions rings rather than fries, but didn’t want to pay the difference. Manger refused service and the male left the area prior to police arrival.
  • Hit and Run North Broad Street at Scoops. Complainant stated that a passenger car driven by an elderly white female struck the rear of her vehicle as she was exiting her vehicle in front of Scoops. The tag number given by the victim did not come back on file. No injuries were reported.
  • Welfare Check Plaza Trace in reference to a 50-year-old female who the complainant has had no contact with in one week. Made contact with the female who advised she was okay.
  • Domestic at Lawrence Street in reference to son disputing with his mother. All ok.
  • Suspicious Subject,  In heritage Park in reference to a black male trying to take a bicycle and enter a green Ford Explorer. Officers had negative contact.
  • Dispute North Broad Street in reference Subject’s verbally arguing. Parties were separated.
  • Area Check Great Oaks Drive in reference to an anonymous caller stating they could hear someone shouting for help in the woods. Area was checked with negative contact.
  • Citizen Assist at 1450 South Broad Street. Complainant wanted officers to stand by while she collected her property from the residence due to a previous dispute she had with her husband. All okay.
  • Theft at Tall Oaks Lane. Complainant stating someone entered his vehicle this morning and stole his wife’s wallet and cash. Report taken.
  • EMS Assist Davis Street in reference to a 19-year-old female having a miscarriage. Female was transported to the hospital by MED unit.
  • Welfare Check at South Broad Street. Patient in senior care complaining about caretakers not giving him money and letting him walk off the premises. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute Wall Street/East Church Street in reference to a male having the complainant’s phone. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Hwy 78 at Youth Monroe Road eastbound in reference to a yellow Harley motorcycle reckless towards Monroe. Negative Contact.
  • Burglary Report at Tall Oaks Lane in reference to the complainants finding a broken window in the back bedroom of the residence. Complainant’s son stated he saw a male subject wearing all black in the area at approximately 0445 this date, he advised the male subject was walking towards Tall Oaks Lane. There was a report of a wallet being stolen from a vehicle at the residence. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop, East Marable Street / Maple Street in reference to LPR hit with expired tag. Driver, Terry Baughns, with warrants from Rockdale County. Arrested and transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Hit and Run East Church Street – Jack Peters in reference to a two vehicle crash on private property. Complainant stated he was in the store when a white in color Honda backed into his silver Chevy Malibu and left the scene. There was no damage to the Silver Malibu and the complainant declined a report. The driver of the white Honda left his wallet on the counter inside the store, contact was made over the phone in reference to returning his wallet. No injuries reported on scene.
  • Harassment, South Broad Street – South Side Mobile Home Park in reference to Complainant’s reporting a male subject harassing their daughter. Contact was made with male, he was advised to have no contact with anyone as that residence. Report Taken.
  • Injured Animal at Charlotte Rowell and Hwy 11 in reference to canine hit by vehicle and unable to walk. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Found Property Returned at 116 South Broad Street – MPD parking lot in reference to male retrieving his wallet he left at Jack Peters Store. Wallet was returned without incident.
  • Warrant Attempt Cook Street – Deltron Tuggle was arrested on warrants and transported to WCSO.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Vine Street (Conestoga MHP) in reference to vehicle with no tag pared in vacant lot. White Lexus returned not stolen out of Florida.
  • Dispute, west spring street- Huddle House- in reference to customers disputing with staff. Handled by WCSO who was already in parking lot.
  • Stranded Motorist on West Spring Street in reference to tractor trailer driver unable to find Elite Storage entrance. Showed shipping entrance.
  • Suspicious Vehicle West Spring Street – Behind the Monroe Library.  A male subject sitting in his vehicle stated he was homeless.  Advised him to find another place to sit beside a closed building.  He left the area without any issues.
  • Area Check West Spring Street – Taco Bell in reference to an employee showing up and the front door was unsecured. Checked business and all appeared fine.
