Monroe PD Reports: Attempted credit card scam at Walgreens

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between May 12 – 25, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into six parts. This is the second part. Please note an  arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Pick up at Clark County. So Rickie Jackson transported to Walton County jail on warrants.
  • Welfare Check, Glen Iris Dr., complainant requested officers speak to his wife. Subject was intoxicated and on medication. Advised both parties of remedies.
  • Citizen Assist, Radford St., complainant wanted officer to stand by while she left the residence. Complainant left without incident.
  • Suicide Attempt, Douglas St., complainant stated named subject made threats to hurt himself to his girlfriend by unknown means. Contact made with subject, he allowed consent to look through his text no threats made by either party. Complainant lives in Loganville.
  • Fraud report, South Broad Street (Walgreens). Wanted documentation regarding a gift card scam that occurred this date around 2030 hours. Male called to store posing as someone from the corporate office.  Male advised they were doing a reset of the system and new software was going to be installed. Advised the store would be switching to e-cards and needed employee to load certain cards for the reset. Employee was advised by Corporate security that it was a scam and to void out all cards.
  • Suspicious People on Pinecrest.  Three subjects sitting down near bushes.  Contact made with a family.  Resting due to medical issues.  EMS checked them out and provided at lift to Radford Street.
  • Discharging Firearms in the area of West Creek Circle, found a party going on and they stated that some random person drove / walked by and fired 2 round in the air.  2 40 Caliber shell casing located in the road way.
  • 911 Hang Up, Masters Dr., Verbal Domestic between mother and father about their son. Situation mediated.
  • Domestic in the area of Davis St. and Wall St., complainant advised they could hear people arguing and someone threaten to murder another.  No description of subject’s area was checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Mill Stone Bluff met with complainant who was intoxicated and stated her husband locked her out. Husband was asleep and would not come to the door. Complainant said she was going to stay with her sister for the night.
  • Dispute, Hill St., reference to a family party were everyone was intoxicated and verbally arguing, Male subject supposedly pushed his niece in the neck, she did not want to press charges. None of them lived in the same residence, parties were separated and party was shut down.
  • Welfare Check, Haven Inn, complainant from Mississippi stated female on location possibly drugged. Contact made with male and female subject. All ok, female was drunk denied blood work. Male subject stated complainant was ex fiancé and was trying to get him in trouble.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., male subject on location sleeping in the booth, subject stated he was very tired and did not know he fell asleep. PBT results negative for alcohol.  Subject advised to be fully awake before leaving the store.
  • Assault at Clearview Regional Medical Center, complainant stated she was assaulted by named male subject at their residence on Nelson St.  Warrants for battery to be taken.  While attempting to make contact with male subject, Tony Barrette was arrest for probation warrant
  • Sig38D, Monroe Motor Inn, male and female subjects on location.  Subjects had a spoon that had possibly been used for Sig38D.
  • Domestic problem, Davis St.  Tonya Porter arrested for criminal trespass.
  • Juvenile complaint, Ash Ln., complainant stated named male subject or another named subject took her sons cell phone.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Ln., daughter and her mom were disputing.  Daughter was GOA prior to officer arrival.
  • Dispute, Deer Acres Inn.  Subjects upset due to a dirty room.  Advised of the civil process.
  • Harassment, Birch St., male subject was served with a prohibited entry for this location due to coming and harassing female subject.  Entry will be placed in notebook at Monroe PD.
  • Burglary, Douglas St., complainant advised someone entered her residence and removed 2 TV’s and $750 cash.
  • Dispute, S. Broad St.  2 females arguing.  Second party GOA prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Traffic Stop,  Uylesis Brown arrested for driving on a suspended license and improper left hand turn,  finger printed and release on copy
  • Wanted Person, South Broad St., (Chevron) in reference to a Kimberly McDuffy having warrants for her arrest.  Kimberly McDuffy was the same female from Northview Drive.  McDuffy was arrest for warrant out of Walton County.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., (Clearview) in reference to Joseph Dickson not wanting to leave.  Subject was intoxicated and refusing to answer officer’s question.  Dickson was arrested and taken to Walton County Jail for Public Drunk.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., (Scoops) in reference to a white female wearing a tie dyed shirt attempting to get into a vehicle and bothering customers.  Subject left in a vehicle prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Fight at Old Mill Run.  Caller stated large fight and subjects had guns.  Upon arrival no guns found large crowd was dispersed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Felker St & Mobley Circle.  Subject was on the phone pulled over to talk.
  • Dispute, East Spring St., (Dairy Queen) Tommy Harrison was arrested on DOC due to coming to Dairy Queen and stated he was going to shoot up the place causing a panic at the store.  Tommy believed a vehicle that was stopped near his shop was attempting to break into the shop.  He ran to Dairy Queen to get someone to call 911 and started to argue with people in the drive through and inside the store.
  • Suspicious vehicle at North Broad Street and Highway 78 in reference to a blue Nissan Maxima driving with it headlights off Negative Contact with that vehicle.
  • Traffic Stop of a red Nissan with its headlights off being driving by a 15-year-old female.  Juvenile was cited for headlight requirements and no license.  Juvenile turned over to parents and car turned over to license driver.
  • Domestic, Tanglewood, complainant advised her ex-boyfriend took the car without permission.  The ex is also an owner of the vehicle advised of civil remedies.
  • Domestic at Walton Truck Stop, female and John Cross arguing in the parking lot.  John seen throwing female into the car, and leaving.  Vehicle was located on Friendship Church Road.  John Cross arrested for Family Violence Battery
  • Animal complaint 1 Bulldog Dr., GWA. Ref to a Chihuahua in the courtyard trying to bite students. K9 caught and transported to Animal Control.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Walton St. Vehicle stolen out of Rockdale County. Vehicle impounded by towing company.
  • Suspicious person, Magnolia Terr., male subject at residence barred from housing fled out back door on arrival. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Domestic problem, Burch St. Verbal argument only over fidelity, all ok.
  • Officer’s Request to check area on Green St. Elderly male refused to provide address but advised several subjects in his yard. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Animal call, complaint on Gatewood Way. Ref to two donkeys grazing. Later found aprox. 40 cows loose as well. All belonged to another resident. Animal Control declined to cite.
  • Domestic problem, Plaza Dr., three subjects all in verbal dispute because one subject knocked a picture frame onto a TV and broke it.
  • Officer Request to come to South Broad St., MPD. Complainant wanted someone to call her mother to tell her to bring her wallet back. Contact made with mother and she will return wallet.
  • Accident/arrest, Charlotte Rowell just past the HW78 light. Single vehicle with multiples injuries and extensive damage.  1y/o baby transported to Athens, Kurt Lee was arrested at Tanglewood for leaving the scene, false name and DOB and 29 out of WCSO.
  • Suspicious person, North Broad St., Golden Pantry. Driver of black Ford possibly intoxicated. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Reed St. Montavious Harris and wife involved in a physical altercation. Montavious arrested for FV Bat.
  • Disturbing the peace, Felker St. Male riding around in the area on a 4 wheeler. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Agency assist. GSP, chase on foot from Clearview behind Wal-Mart. Male driver from accident ran into the woods behind Wal-Mart, units had visual but lost it, officer injured during chase. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle, East Spring St., Dairy Queen. Male subject released on copy for DWLS, Diana Harrell arrested for drug related objects and poss. of meth.
  • 911 Hang up, E. Church St. (Chestnut Cupboard) in regards to B/M who stole a Reese’s candy. Manager declined report at this time.
  • Civil issue, E. Marable St., in regards to complainant stating her boyfriend took her car which is registered to his uncle. Advised of civil remedies.
  • Suspicious vehicle/person, W. Spring St. (Murphy USA) in regards to B/M in red sedan w/ New York tag going pump to pump and approaching customers. Contact made w/ subject who advised he was trying to get people to give him fuel points. Subject sent on his way, all ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 138 towards Monroe. White 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo w/ tag # given. Reckless and speeding. Area checked with negative contact
  • Domestic problem, Michael Circle, male and female arguing in the street, called in by neighbor. Female did not want to state what happened and refused charges. No signs of violence, Female taken home by male’s brother, parties separated.
