Monroe PD Reports: Child with possible burn marks, domestic disputes, shoplifting and hit and run

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 1 – 7, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Agency Assist, South Madison Ave at FISH in reference to meeting with DFACS. Met with DFACS worker, whom advised a report was filed last date in reference to a 6-month-old child with possible burn marks. DFACS worker advised she and the original officer attempted to make contact last date with negative results. She stated the child and mother were on location at FISH and she needed to take the child to CHOA for a health evaluation. DFACS worker stated the mother and grandmother were not being cooperative. CID was notified. CID officer responded. The mother and child left willingly with DFACS. Supplemental added to original report.
  • Follow Up, Sporty Lane, reference to female subject from earlier call wanting to make the police aware there was a complaint filed against her by the property manager to social worker from Advantage Behavioral Health. The social worker stated the subject is a mental health patient and has a history of mental illness. Social worker stated she was going to take the subject to the clinic and start the 1013 process. This is a follow up to earlier case #.
  • Found Property, South Madison Ave., reference to pills found in mailbox. Complainant stated he located four green pills in his mailbox this date when he went to retrieve his mail. The pills were identified as Nortriptyline Hydrochloride which is not a controlled substance. Complainant believes a named subject placed them in the mailbox as a possible setup, but it is unknown as to whom actually put them in there. The pills were placed into evidence to be destroyed.
  • Drugs, Plaza Trace, reference to the neighbors smelling weed being smoked at night.  Advised them to give us a call when they smell it, so we can take enforcement action
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., black male going around asking if they have seen his wallet he lost two weeks ago.  Asked if they had any camera’s.  Subject left prior to my arrival.
  • Suspicious Person, Walgreen’s, reference to female subject asking people for money, officer made contact, she advised she was going home.
  • Agency Assist, South Madison Ave. and Towler St, reference to a red in color Volkswagen Jetta involved in a hit and run in the County, contact made with the vehicle,
  • Domestic Dispute, Walker Dr., complainant advised male subject wanted her to leave the residence and took her keys. She stated he gave back her keys and left. Male was gone upon arrival. Complainant advised everything was ok and she was leaving too.
  • Officer’s met with complainant’s Bold Springs Ave., three subjects was to report that named male subject threatened to shoot them and blow up the residence. They advised the incident occurred around 1300 hours this date and wanted a report. Another subject advised one of the three threatened to shoot male subject in the head, and that male subject did not make the threats that were advised. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd. (Skyline Trace,) reference to complainant wanting female subject out of her residence. Complainant’s son and boyfriend to female subject was on scene and advised his mother allowed them to stay there. After investigation, it was confirmed, and all parties advised of civil remedies.
  • Welfare check at 528 Wellington Ln., regards to juveniles and drug activity. Parents were not home and 15-year-old juvenile was advised to have parents call about the welfare check.
  • Dispute, W. 5th St. between two females over slander and living arrangements. All parties advised of civil remedies and incident verbal only.
  • Follow up by phone with complainant regarding welfare check at Wellington Manor. Complainant was advised of Temporary Protection Order options.
  • Theft, Reed Way, regards to complainant stating male subject came over to check on her and suspects he stole her cough syrup. Report taken, no evidence to prove crime at this time.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 78 EB towards city, regards to blue Honda Civic driven by black male possibly drinking. Contact made at Liberty First Bank ATM. Black female was drinking ginger ale, all ok.
  • Dispute, W. Tall Oaks Dr. between two subjects over one’s behavior. All was ok, situation mediated.
  • Dispute, Walton Road, Residents in a verbal dispute over disagreement on eviction process.  Eviction process was explained, and all parties are now aware of the correct process.
  • Dispute, Chestnut Ln., complainant wanted $60 from female subject. Female subject agreed to pay complainant tomorrow at 2000 hours and complainant will voluntarily move out of the residence. Once complainant is out, female subject wants a bar notice issued to complainant.
  • Dispute at Walmart. Caller stated they observed a white male push a white female. Caller provided a tag number.  Area check was completed with no contact with any persons or that vehicle.
  • Entering Auto, Tall Oaks Dr., complainant observed an unknown tall black enter her vehicle and steal her pocket book. Complainant stated the male then fled on foot west down East Church Street. Area Checked with Negative Results. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, Nowell St., son reported that his mother was causing a scene at his residence over a disagreement with named subject. Parties were separated, and subject went back home to Winder.
  • Suspicious Persons, Tall Oaks Dr., complainant calling in reference to entering auto that happened earlier this date stating the suspect returned for the shoes he left behind. Area was checked with Negative Results.
  • Dispute, W Vine St., Contact was made with resident who stated there was no dispute. He stated he was on the front porch having a conversation with his 10-year-old daughter.  All was ok.
  • Dispute, Plaza Dr., two subjects were disputing about money being spent during the holidays. See report for more details. Parties were separated for the evening.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart. White female who had left stole multiple items. Left in a black Mustang Ga tag number. Vehicle was standing by with getaway driver. Report taken. Walmart will press charges.
  • Dispute, Michael Cir., Called in by 3rd party stating residents were physically fighting in the yard. Contact made with female subject on Overlook Trail who stated she was verbally fighting with her child’s father, but it was not physical. Female subject was informed of the TPO and Eviction process.
  • Suspicious Person, Plaza Dr., Reference to 3 or 4 black juveniles possibly breaking into the wash room.  Officer checked the wash room, and all was ok.
  • Civil Dispute, Landers St., couple in verbal dispute over property. Male subject advised he does not have said property and wanted female subject to stay away from him. Female subject was given a criminal trespass warning to stay away from male subject and Landers Street.
  • Domestic, Carwood Dr., son said his mom took his paychecks and locked him out of the house before she left.  Remedies advised to son.
  • Traffic Stop, Highway 78: male stopped for suspicion of DUI and Display of License Plates.  Probable cause conducted due to odor of marijuana.  Male was found to be in possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.  His vehicle was towed, and he was turned over to his mother at the PD lobby due to eating an unknown amount of marijuana.
  • Missing Person, Bojangles. Reference to female subject. Officer made contact, and all was ok. She was removed from GCIC.
  • Overdue Motorist, Storehouse Court,complainant advised she allowed a friend, name given, to take her 2003 Toyota Corolla to Walmart last date at 1200, and he has not returned yet.  Vehicle is a 4 door, brown, with a black bumper, no vehicle registration available.  Unable to locate any information on male subject.  Complainant advised he may be staying in Meadow Walk Subdivision.  Attempted to make contact with vehicle in Meadow Walk, but had no success.  BOLO given out by Walton County Dispatch.
  • Domestic, North Madison Ave., couple verbally disputing.  Subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Wanted person, Alcovy St., Matthew Bynum was arrested in the Georgia Probation Office for violating the terms of his probation.  Probation warrant was in hand upon officer’s arrival.  Mr. Bynum was turned over to the Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Courtesy Transport, West Spring St. & Academy Lock. Officer spotted a Walmart employee walking to work.  A courtesy ride was given.  All ok.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Destiny Smith was arrested for shoplifting and forgery.
