Monroe PD Reports: Disputes over fake money used to buy marijuana; serving BBQ rat for dinner

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between June 30 – July 6, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious person x2 2050 West Spring Street anonymous complainant said two black males with book bags were looking in people’s cars. Subjects selling MAHS football coupon books. Advised not to look in cars. All ok.
  • Dispute Old Mill Point in reference to dispute between neighbors 10-year-old with down syndrome walking across the complainants front yard that they share attempted to resolve the dispute but was referred to civil court
  • Dispute Roosevelt Street. Subjects in argument over money, both advised that they overacted and apologized.
  • Suicide by cop Store House Ct. caller advised that a black male with long dreads was threatening suicide by cop. Contact made with True Adams at South Madison near Felker Park. Fight occurred subject arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
  • Civil, South Broad Street. Complainant had concerns about how a subject was disciplining her child. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Baron Dr. in regards to gray vehicle playing loud music. Contact made on Baron Dr. and party told to turn music down, all ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 78 in regards to blue Chevy Sonic launching fireworks out of vehicle while driving. Contact made at Southview Dr. Subjects confessed to shooting fireworks and given verbal warning. All ok.
  • Follow up, Oakwood Ln. in regards to a wanted female possibly on location. Arrived on scene and confirmed that female surrendered to WCSO earlier this date. No further
  • Theft, E. Church St. (Chevron). Complainant stated her cell phone and lighter was stolen by a black male she gave a ride to earlier this date. Report taken.
  • Unknown, E. Marable St. (Hot Spot) in regards to complainant upset because homeowner removed her property from residence on Turner St.  Complainant was a guest of male renting room from homeowner. Homeowner advised of eviction process and complainant’s  property moved back into residence
  • Fight, Baron Dr. in regards to large group in roadway and looked like a fight was about to happen as well as a B/M that was waving a gun around. Large crowd was shooting fireworks but no fight.
  • Dispute, Maple Way in regards to female and her 7 kids living w/ complainant. Complainant wanted mother and her kids to leave. Both parties advised of eviction process. Mother advised she would call FISH in the morning for help. All ok.
  • Dispute, Felker St. in regards to renters disputing over parking spaces. All parties advised of civil remedies due to being private property and owned by same landlord.
  • Entering auto, Classic Trail. Complainant advised he had his Chevy Tahoe parked near  Baron Dr. around 2100 hrs shooting fireworks w/ family and unknown party entered his vehicle and stole a Springfield Armory XD9 .40 handgun. Report taken and firearm entered onto GCIC.
  • Traffic control, W. Creek Circle in regards to residence having party and multiple cars on location. Traffic was still flowing and subjects advised to keep vehicles out of roadway. All ok.
  • Drive-by shooting, Knight St. Complainant stated she has been having issues with three females and tonight all three females drove by her residence in a white Ford Expedition and fired shots at the house. Three other females were also inside of the residence. Witness statements were collected and vehicle w/ occupants were detained at Old Mill Pointe and vehicle was seized for processing. CID was notified and arrived to process scene and assist. All three suspects were taken to MPD for interviews and vehicle was towed by towing company to Monroe Fire for processing. No person at residence was struck or injured by the bullets and shell casings along with bullets were collected from scene. Investigation is still on-going at this time.
  • Prowler, Green St. in regards to anonymous caller stating a B/M was knocking on her door and then ran off. Due to all units working crime scene on Knight St., called was handled by WCSO. All was ok.
  • Juvenile complaint, Towler St. in regards to 17 YOA juvenile did not want to go home w/ mother. Contact made w/ mother and daughter. Daughter explained she has been going through a lot of emotional stuff lately and wanted to see her friend to talk and relax. Mother stated she wanted daughter to talk to her. Situation was mediated and daughter allowed to go stay with her friends.
  • Damage to property, W. Creek Circle. Complainant’s gray Chevy Tahoe was damaged at an unknown time this morning. Damage included scratches all around vehicle and all doors were damaged from where it appeared a crowbar was used to try and enter vehicle. Report taken.
  • Dispute at Magnolia Terrace in reference to a male and female in a dispute.  Negative contact with anyone on location.  A neighbor stated the two who were disputing had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Prisoner Transport, South Broad Street.  Chazarai Bankston arrested by Monroe CID and was transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Fraud at South Broad Street in reference to fraudulent checks received in the mail.  Complainant received forged check in the male.  Complainant stated this is the third check she has received and wanted to report it.  Report taken.
  • Found Property, South Broad Street.  Female found a wallet that belonged to a male.  Officers are trying to return the property back to the owner.
  • Damaged Property, North Broad Street.  Complainant advised someone damaged her Subaru Outback during the night time hours while it was parked at her residence located at Carver Place.
  • Pullover/Arrest at Walgreens.  Namain Colquitt stopped for an obstructed tag and arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana after a search of her vehicle was conducted.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring Street / Hwy 78 in reference to a speeding vehicle.  An area check was conducted but negative contact was ever made.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Madison Ave / East Marable St in reference to a white BMW SUV driving reckless.  Contact was made and a verbal warning was issued.  All ok.
  • Damaged Property, West Spring Street. 2015 Volkswagon Passat damaged by unknown object sometime between 0930 and 1230 hours this date in a parking lot of Aaron’s Rental.
  • Juvenile Complaint, South Broad Street in reference to a juvenile being unruly.  Father and daughter involved in a verbal argument.  Grandfather wanted granddaughter to go with him and father stated he wanted her to stay with him.  Subject did not wish to file a juvenile complaint.  All ok.
  • Welfare Check, Green Street.  Complainant hadn’t heard from her Pastor since Thursday.  Made contact with Pastor and he advised his phone had stopped working.  All ok.
  • Missing Person at South Broad Street. Complainant stated his patient has been gone most of the day after an appointment and he doesn’t know where he was.  Complainant stated while officers were en-route, the patient was dropped off by his transportation.  He stated the driver took longer than usual and it took longer to get complainant back to the location.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at South Broad Street in reference a silver Toyota Camry failing to maintain its lane.  Vehicle turned off the roadway before entering the city.
  • Dispute, North Broad Street.  Delivery driver for Amici’s blocked several parking spaces on the roadway.  Spoke to management and mediated the dispute.  All ok.
  • Fire Assist, Walker Drive.  Juvenile called in a brush fire on Walker Driver and then disconnected.  Monroe FD along with Monroe PD conducted an area check with negative results.
  • Dispute, Bryant Road – Athens Tech.  In reference to complainant stating that named male subject threw a brick at her vehicle.  Male subject stated that he threw the brick after complainant pepper sprayed him.  Male subject stated that he was attempting to buy weed from named male and that he gave him fake money unknowingly for the weed and that complainant came after him for it.  Officers could not confirm the pepper spray and male subject admitted to throwing the rocks.  Male subject cited for Disorderly and released on a copy.
  • Dispute, South Madison Avenue, complainant on location upset because her roommate allegedly cooked and ate barbecue rat.  Advised complainant that no laws were broken and if she did not like what her roommate cooked to evict her.
  • Emergency Message, East Church Street.  Advised wife that her husband was being transported to St Mary’s in Athens.  Message delivered.
  • Traffic Stop, North Broad Street near Amici’s.  Lisa Shields pulled over for improper lane change and seatbelt.  Later arrested for DUI alcohol.
  • Entering Auto, Douglas Street, and complainant advised while shopping at John’s Supermarket someone entered her unlocked vehicle with its window down and stole her purse.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Custom Way, complainant stated she observed an elder black male stumbling and appeared either over heated or intoxicated.  Negative contact with the male.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring Street.  Male lying on the ground.  Made contact with male subject who was sitting in his car.Agency Assist at the Bait Shop.  Walton County SO requested units make contact with female subject.  Contact made with male subject on location advised he works the fruit stand and has not seen anyone recently nor does he know the female subject.
  • Welfare Check, Wheel House Lane, complainant requested a welfare check on his juvenile daughter after her mother informed him she caught a juvenile boy with his pants down in front of her.  Contacted DFACS and CID.  Contact also made with mother who stated named subject is making false allegation and showed Officers text and voice mail messages supporting her statements.
  • Suspicious Person in the area of South Broad Street and Fambrough Street in reference to a black female carrying a green bag with no pants on.  Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Domestic, Overlook Crest in reference to complainant having questions about how to evict male subject.
  • Traffic Stop at West Spring Street near KFC, driver cited for no issuance and warning issued for stop sign violations.  Vehicle towed by towing company
  • Stolen Vehicle, Ridge Rd., complainant reported her blue 2008 Ford Focus, $160 cash stolen.  Complainant had guest over until 0330 this date.  She believes a man by the nickname given took her belongings.  Complainant did not have the vehicle information or information on name given.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St. in reference to complainant on location acting strange. He admitted that he was on drugs and asked for help.  Complainant was turned over to Walton EMS.
  • Wanted Person Located, Magnolia Terrace.  Negative contact with Demetrius Reid.  Mr. Reid was arrested on June 9th and is located at Macon State Prison.
  • Dispute, Heritage Trace, complainant and his Grandfather disagreeing about who keeps opening the kitchen cabinets and not closing them.  Grandfather also wants complainant to help with his grandmothers since she had dementia.  Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., mother and her daughter disputing over personal property.  Daughter was GOA and mother was advised on a good behavior warrant along with a TPO if she wished to do so.  All ok.
  • Threats, Plaza Dr.,  mother stated her 24 year old son left the house two months ago and wants to come back.  Mother stated she doesn’t want him back.  Both were disputing over the phone.  Report requested.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Tanglewood Dr.  Complainant stated her daughter keeps taking things that are not hers.  Spoke to daughter and educated her on the right and wrongs of stealing.  Situation mediated.
  • Hit & Run, Bridgeport Place. Complainant stated at some point last date a vehicle backed into her SUV causing damage to the rear bumper.  Report taken.
  • Civil Dispute, West Spring St., complainant was upset that the Marathon station would not pay her the $500 she won on a lottery ticket.  She was advised to cash it in at another location.
  • Theft, Mobly Cir. in reference to items stolen from her front yard.  Complainant reported her grill being stolen and upon arrival to her residence, found her grill in the wood line beside the residence.  Officers removed the grill from the woods and placed it back on her lawn.  All ok.
  • Dispute, West Spring Street.  An unknown female was disputing with staff over an order of Crazy Bread.  The unknown female was GOA.  Advised staff to notify police if she returns.  All ok.
  • Disturbed Person, West Vine St., male subject on location acting erratically, subject requested a ride to Clearview Hospital for voluntary testing.  Unit transported to Clearview Hospital.
  • Animal Complaint, East Spring St., Met with Edith Springfield wanted to let officers know that a dog was loose and tried to bite her on 7/5/2017.
  • Dispute, Stokes Street.  Met with complainant who stated a group of unknown boys were in the street arguing and they left when she called 911.  Advised to contact back if the group show up again.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Metro PCS.  A black male with flowered swimming truck came into the store and stole a Galaxy S8 and ran away. Reviewed video unable to make a copy at this time.
  • Search Warrants, Green Street.  Assisted Social Circle PD in securing the home while they investigated a shooting incident.
  • Traffic Complaint at South Broad Street and Atha Street.  In reference to a silver Pontiac Bonneville unable to maintain lane. Unable to locate the vehicle
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring Street – Wal-Mart in reference to a black male trying to sell music CD.  Made contact with male subject and after a short run male subject cited for DOC and released on a copy.  His partner warned not to sell CD without permission from Wal-Mart.
  • Emergency Message, Radford Street in reference to delivering a message to female subject.  Upon arrival smell marijuana coming from the residence.  Made contact with two male subjects.  Contacted FIT and they responded.  Located marijuana inside the residence.  Also contacted the city Marshall due to living conditions at the residence.  Marshall stated he would inspect and condemn the residence due to bug infestation.  Female subject and her son were transported to Haven Inn for the evening. DFAC was also contacted. Message was also delivered.
  • Entering Auto, Bryant Road – Athens Tech.  Caller stated that the observed unknown subjects in a big rig parked near the gym.  Both Rigs were checked and negative entry gained. Both vehicles were secured.
  • Domestic, Landers Street.  Made contact with complainant who stated her husband hit her car with a shovel and left.  Observed a dent in the hood of the car advised her since they were married they technically share the property and it was not done to threaten or intimidate.
  • Fraud, Creekview Drive.  Complainant on location trying to file a report for her boyfriend who was not on location.  Advised to call back when he gets off work so he can file the report.
  • (Suspicious Person, Gliding Lane.  Unit conducted an area check and observed a vehicle with its dome light on.  Negative contact with anyone at the residence, vehicle was secured and did not appear to have been rummaged through.
  • Wanted Person, East Marable Street near Amy Briggery Homes.  Caller stated her son Timothy Strom had active warrants and was driving her truck.  Made contact and stopped the vehicle.  Arrest Strom for active warrants out of Walton County SO.
  • Welfare Check, Armistead Circle.  Caller was worried about female subject due to having a bad fight.  Female subject was having a panic attack and officers calmed her down.
