Monroe PD Reports: Disputing couple advised to sleep in separate rooms for night

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 15 – 22, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St. at Liberty Mutual Bank, reference to a silver passenger car driving around the bank multiple times. Made contact with male driver whom advised he was getting money out of the ATM. Subject had receipts to prove his actions. He was sent on his way.
  • Traffic Stop, West Spring St., male subject stopped for having no valid insurance on his 2002 Chevy Tahoe. The vehicle was impounded, and subject was released on citation for driving with no insurance.
  • Traffic Stop, West Spring St., Vehicle was stopped for center brake light not working. Officer made contact with Robin Gulley and two other subjects. Robin was believed to be driving under the influence of drugs. Robin refused SFST. After further investigation, methamphetamine along with a pipe was located inside the vehicle. In addition, Xanax bars were located on Robin’s person. Robin was arrested and charged with possession of meth, drug related object, possession of schedule 4 controlled substance, and prescription pills not in their original container. Robin threatened to commit suicide and was taken to Clearview for evaluation. He was released to the custody of the Clearview staff. Warrants to be taken.
  • Damage to Property, Douglas St., Officer made contact with complainant who stated she found the outside screen door to her back-sliding door slightly opened. Report taken, and she requested for extra patrol in the Douglas Street area.
  • Dispute, Sorrells St., reference to a group of subjects fighting inside the apartment. Complainant advised a group of unknown males and a female by the name given struck her in the face and damaged property inside her apartment. Lack of information provided to understand the situation.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Manager who called was no longer on location, all items suspected to be stolen were returned prior to officer arrival. Employee advised to call if manager requested a report.
  • Follow-up, Old Mill Pointe, reference to the earlier fight. Complainant who pulled the gun out advised he did so in protecting his vehicle, but never pointed the gun at anyone. They were threatening to throw a brick through his window as he helped named subject get away from three males chasing him. Supplemental to original report.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of West Creek Circle, reference to ATV’s riding in the roadway. Contact made with male subject driving the ATV on Harris Street. The ATV was put up and subject given a warning.
  • Follow-Up, South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department. Complainant wanted to provide Officers with more information. Conflicting stories on both sides of the situation and it’s undetermined who’s at fault. All parties have been advised police will charge everyone with Disorderly Conduct next time we’re called to have everyone brought before the judge.
  • Theft, Walton County Sheriff’s Office parking lot. Contact made with complainant stating at around 1500 hours this day someone by the name given messaged him on Facebook wanting to buy his IPhone 7 and agreed to meet him at 600 Ridge Road in Monroe. Subject then stole the phone and ran behind the apartment complex. Report taken.
  • Civil Issue, West Vine St., reference to male and female subjects disputing over living arrangements. Report taken.
  • Missing Persons at Walton County Sheriff’s Office parking lot. Contact made with daughter stating she has not seen or spoke with her mother in the last few hours this morning and was last seen by her friend on Reed Way in Monroe. Due to statements made by mother of being depressed and not having a will to live she was entered on GCIC as missing. The mother was last seen in a White Hyundai Elantra with tag# at 0030 hours this date. CID was notified. The mother was later located at Gwinnett Medical.
  • Burglary, East Church St., reference to a neighbor seeing someone inside the residence with a flashlight, area check with negative contact, all windows and doors secure. Everything on location ok.
  • Missing Juvenile, South Broad St., Monroe Police Department, mother advised her 14-year old son, has been missing in the past 1245 hours (Duke Street) when he refused to do his chores and ran from the home. While talking to the mother she received a phone call advising he was back home.
  • EMS Assist, Birch St., reference to male subject being drunk, the complainants were concerned due to him throwing up several times and acting odd. Male subject was checked by EMS and declined being transported to the hospital. Everything on location ok.
  • Dispute, Forest Ln., complainant stated named male subject attempted to call her boyfriend.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, East Church St., Jack Peters, male and female subjects arguing over whether to go home or not. Dispute mediated.
  • Dispute, Atha Street, reference to a large group in the parking lot yelling.  Dispersed the crowd.
  • Domestic, Magnolia Terrace, reference to Toriano Jackson entered complaint’s home without permission. Jackson had active warrants and attempted to flee. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and obstruction. 
  • Domestic dispute, Mill Stone Blf. Spoke with complainant who stated that her boyfriend was drunk and keeping her awake. Both subjects were advised to stay in different rooms, report taken.
  • Damaged Property, Walker St., Made contact with complainant who arrived at work to find that someone had sprayed painted his fence and trash can. Complainant stated that it must have happened between Saturday and Sunday night. Repot taken.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., White male appeared to be on illegal drugs.  Vehicle was not running, and subject advised he takes Methadone. Called for someone to pick him up.
  • Suspicious person, Maple St. and Roosevelt St., while leaving from previous call, a male was seen walking in the road way, and drinking an alcoholic beverage. Male subject was told to pore out the beverage and informed the laws of open container and public drunk. 
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Contact was made with male subject. Subject fell down and got mud on his clothes and rinsed them off before the mud could dry. Subject is homeless and was on the way to Loganville.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad St., Black truck traveling on North Broad Street with debris flying out of the bed. Checked the area. Negative contact.
  • Civil Matter, South Broad Street in reference to complainant reporting a named male subject damaged her vehicle with his vehicle on 02/09/2018 on Harris Street.  She stated the two of them worked it out, and he agreed to pay for the damage.  Stated now he says he does not have the funds to fix it.  Report requested for a civil suit. 
  • Domestic Dispute, Lacy St./Pine Park St., Spoke with daughter who stated her father had choked her during an argument over food. Attempted to make contact with the father on Lakeview Dr. but was unable to. Report taken.
  • Assault, West Spring St., complainant was assaulted at a birthday party off Walton Road.  Unsure of exact location and did not want to provide the offenders name at this time. Complainant wanted to be seen by hospital staff due to extreme pain in his right jaw area and due to a lot of bruising around his eyes.  Wife was at the party and did not know the person’s name but said she could ID in a line up if complainant chose to prosecute.
  • Theft, Reed Way, complainant advised that on Saturday 02/17/18 she was at Quality Foods and went to pay for her groceries and realized her purse was missing. She advised that she had it when she went in. Complainant was missing her purse and a plethora of medication
  • Shoplifting, W Spring St. Unknown B/m’s and B/f skip scanned a multitude of items. Unknown exact dollar amount. Report Taken
  • Harassing phone calls, West Spring St., reference to named female subject calling the restaurant looking for her ex-boyfriend. Subject calls numerous times a day and uses profanity.  Report taken. 
  • Dispute, Bold Springs Ave., daughter disputing with her father over living arrangements. Daughter advised her father tried to grab her neck and stated he was going to kill her. Due to conflicting stories no arrest was made. Daughter left the residence and advised she was not returning
  • Assault, North Broad St., complainant advised dispatch she was punched in the face and walked into the business at this address wanting help.  Complainant advised officer that she had blisters inside her nose and wanted medical treatment. Complainant has extensive mental health issues.  Advised triage nurse when they exam if it looks like she was assaulted to request officer for further investigation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Downtown area traveling north on Highway 11.  Gold 4 door passenger vehicle ran a red light.  Negative contact with the vehicle.  Ok.
  • Stolen Vehicle, West Vine St., complainant now owns this property and had a customer leave a 1993 Chevrolet Truck, blue, with him on Friday.  Customer was in a hurry to leave Friday due to a family emergency so was going to call today with vehicle information.  Complainant said the truck did have out of state tags (maybe South Carolina).  He also noticed a Green Honda that had the door open gone through and a white Tahoe that’s hood was up.  Complainant said the only way off and on the property was through the gate with a number code.  Last time truck was seen on the property was Saturday at approximately 1130 hours. Once more information is received, complainant said he would contact us.
  • Follow Up, N Broad St., reference to a suspect from a prior damage to property that was on location.  B/M subject left on foot.  Officer patrolled the area with negative contact. 
  • Agency Assist, Mill Stone Bluff, Assist DFACS with possible child molestation accusations.  The victim is staying with her sister in law at this address, but incident occurred in Loganville.  Will brief Loganville PD.  Misc. report done to document what victim advised.
  • Dispute, East Church St / Colley St., Contact was made with complainant. She was walking down the street when she was approached by her ex-boyfriend. She told Officers that he got in her face and began arguing with her. She said that she kept trying to walk away and he began striking her and grabbed her around the throat and began choking her. Officers searched the area for the suspect with no contact. Report Taken. WTBT Aggravated Assault and Battery (FV)
  • Dispute, Baron Dr., reference to a cell phone.  Made contact with complainant and she stated everything was okay, she got the phone back prior to Officer arrival.
  • EMS Assist, West Spring St., son stated his elderly father fell from his chair, Rear door forced open by EMS. Patient evaluated by EMS.
  • Prowler, East Marable St., complainant called to report someone knocking on her back door. When officers arrived area, check was conducted with negative contact. There were wet shoe prints in the carport area. 
  • Traffic Stop, Hardee’s. Officer stopped a vehicle due to multiple equipment violations. While running all the occupants in GCIC Shannon Hardigree showed having an active warrant out of Newton County. The warrant was confirmed, and Ms. Hardigree was taken into custody and transported to Walton County Jail without incident. 
  • Shoplifting, East Spring St., Dollar General, black male wearing a black jacket and a grey hoodie stole a cell phone and an activation card and fled on foot. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Walmart, officer located red Cadillac parked on automotive side of building. Vehicle is backed in by some bushes to conceal rear of the vehicle. No tag on the vehicle. Vehicle returned not stolen and all ok at this time.
  • Dispute, Pine Park St., complainant called in reference to his wife taking his vehicle.  Wife arrived back on location while Officer was speaking to caller.  The two had been in a verbal argument due to a text message.  Report taken.
  •  Suspicious Person, Baron Dr., Anonymous caller stated that there were several persons on bicycles at the end of Baron Dr. Area check conducted with no contact.
  • Suspicious Person/Chase/Arrested) Officer noticed a B/M by the name of Darrius Ivey on Maple Ln near E Marable St. Officer was familiar that the subject was wanted and made contact with him. When Officer advised he had a warrant, Ivey attempted to flee from the Officers Officer’s gave chase and deployed two taser cartridges at the subject. Ivey was apprehended shortly thereafter down the road in a briar patch on East Marable.
  • Suspicious Person, Glen Iris Dr., saw a black male in a black hoodie walking around their cars and around the house. Heard him on the phone say, “the two guys that live here are gone”. Advised to contact if the subject returns.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Breedlove Dr., reference to a white Ford Ranger on location.  Made contact with employee/complainant.  Advised the truck has been on location for several days.  Dispatch was not successful with making contact with the owner.  All returned ok on the vehicle.  Complainant advised on process of towing the vehicle.  All OK.
  • Follow Up, East Spring St., Met with complainant in reference to stolen vehicle from last date. The vehicle is 1999 GMC Sierra (Louisiana Tag). Vehicle has been placed on GCIC. Sup added to report.
  • Traffic Stop/Impound, Sorrells St/ Rose Ison Terr. Tag # was ran through GCIC/NCIC returned with no insurance and owner of vehicle with suspended license. Citations issued for No insurance and the driver Keanna Bryant served with suspended license. Vehicle towed by towing company.
  • Elder Abuse, East Marable St. Contact was made with complainant who advised her nephew, without consent went into her safety deposit at her bank in Statham GA and took out her insurance policy. She advised she has since made contact with him and he denies taking it. Incident occurred in Barrow County, report will be forwarded to BCSO
  • Welfare Check, Davis St., of a female subject on location due to subject possibly being intoxicated.  Made contact with subject and another subject and they advised they were okay. Subject said his ex-girlfriend showed up banging on their door, but she left.
  • Entering Auto, 4th St., complainant reported someone entered his 1983 Chevrolet El Camino during the night and took a pocket knife and a cigarette lighter.  Report taken
  • Juvenile complaint, Custom Way, Made contact with three juveniles. Juveniles were asked to leave by homeowner and refused. Juveniles were taken to their home and released to parents at Tall Oaks West. All Ok.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., Female wearing a long brown trench coat asking people for money. Made contact with female subject who has history of mental health problems. Subject said she’s out singing for the Lord. Subject denied asking for money.
