Monroe PD Reports: Domestic disputes between couples, DUI drugs arrest

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 23 – 19, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle, Mathews Park, reference to a 2001 Toyota Camry on location, unoccupied with the driver’s side window down. Officer attempted to locate the owner but had negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, South Madison Ave., reference to needing assistance with making entry. Door was unlocked upon arrival. Turned over to EMS.
  • Vehicle Accident w/injuries, Walton Road/Kelton Road. Two vehicles, one being a wrecker. All parties in vehicle #2 were transported to Piedmont Walton. Turned over to GSP 757. Driver #1 arrested for DUI Drugs.
  • Recovered Stolen Vehicle, the 2017 Mercedes C300 stolen last date was recovered by Atlanta PD. CID was notified. Supplemental added to original report. The vehicle was removed from GCIC.
  • Entering Auto, Alcovy St., complainant advised the front driver’s side window of her 2005 Lexus RX330 was broken out between 1130 and 1500 hours this date. She noticed her wallet was missing but does not know if it was stolen from her vehicle or her purse which was in the kitchen closet at the Monroe Golf and Country Club. Report taken.
  • Area Check, Highway 138, reference to a patient stating a vehicle, possibly a golf cart, ran over a flower bed and into the building.  Negative contact with described incident. 
  • Dispute, Michael Circle, couple were disputing with male subject over property. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, West Marable St., couple were arguing over civil agreements. Couple have been dating for a while and cannot get along. Male had questions about evictions and Temporary Protection Order. Female advised she was leaving in the morning for rehab. Both parties were advised of civil remedies.
  • Dispute, East Church St., reference to a male and female disputing. The male left in a black vehicle while the female took off on foot towards Chestnut Lane. A passerby stated the male had assaulted the female and she was at a residence in the cul-de-sac with a green car in the yard. Officers attempted to make contact on Chestnut Lane but had negative contact.
  • Suicide Threats, Mill St., reference to subject making threats to harm himself – he was upset over a break up and was making threatening suicide by cop. The situation was deescalated, Subject was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and was transported to Piedmont Walton for a mental evaluation. Report taken.
  • Animal Complaint, Woodland Rd., reference to checking on the welfare of the animals.  Animals were ok, had shelter, water and food.  Upon arrival female subject was smoking weed on the back porch.  Cited for less than an ounce of marijuana.
  • Forgery, West Spring St., reference to complainant receiving counterfeit $5 bill from clerk at gas station. Report taken and bill placed into evidence.
  • Theft, Claywill Circle, reference to male subject taking female’s cell phone. Male returned the cell phone and the situation was mediated.
  • Dispute, Towler St., reference to two subjects disputing with another subject, dispute was verbal only, the situation was mediated everything on location ok. 
  • Report, Hill St., reference to complainant calling because she was concerned with female subject’s safety due to her arguing with named male subject. Complainant made statements about, male subject becoming physical with female however when I spoke to female she did not wish to speak to the police about the disputes. Report created for documentation.
  • Dispute, Sorrells St., reference to a caller stating her father put his hands on her. No address given. Checked area with no contact with anyone needing assistance.
  • Follow Up, East Fambrough St., reference to the dispute on Sorrells Street. Spoke with daughter who said she got in a dispute with her father.
  • Welfare Check, Magnolia Terrace, female subject’s Mother calling because male subject was on location and was not to be on location. Made Contact with female who was intoxicated, and I was unable to determine if male subject was invited or not. Male subject was not on location upon officer’s arrival.
  • Assault – Mill St., complainant advised that named male subject assaulted him on Mill Street and took $195 and his cell phone.  Officers attempted to make contact at the residence. Negative contact with anyone.  Attempted to locate the two that witness the assault also with negative findings.  Report taken. 
  • Dispute, West Spring St., reference to combative mental patient.  Patient was sedated prior to our arrival.
  • Dispute, Cook St., Complainant stated her sister’s boyfriend had her phone and she was having trouble getting it back. Complainant stated she got the phone back.  Incident occurred earlier at the Sycamore Square Apartments.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Carwood/West Spring St., reference to a white GMC Yukon speeding.  Negative contact with the vehicle. 
  • Juvenile Complaint, Blaine St., met with complainant who said that named subject became disruptive during class. Situation mediated. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, complainant flagged us down. Wanted to know how to get his dog back from ex-girlfriend. Advised him of the civil process.
  • Burglary, 6th St., complainant said he thought he heard someone rattling the bedroom doorknob last night. Complainant barricades his front and back door and windows. Complainant said nothing was stolen. Complainant just wanted police aware. Report declined.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., Checked the area with negative contact
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Ashley Vazquez arrested for shoplifting ($124.32). Released on citation.
  • Damage to property, Monroe PD Lobby, complainant advised on 4/13/18 around 1600 hrs. her vehicle was damaged possibly by a buggy at Roses.
  • Suspicious Person, Monroe PD Lobby, complainant advised a white male has been living in a white Bronco next to her residence and believes he has been looking in her windows and possibly stealing gas from her vehicle.  Has asked for extra patrol and to have the subject leave.  Advised the subject has been seen in the vehicle after 1800 at night.
  • Damage to Property, Meadow Walk Dr., complainant stated her Nissan Sentra was hit while parked in the Quality Foods parking lot. Report taken
  • Meet with at the Jail. Spoke with male subject who stated his 14-year-old daughter had left their house late last night and was staying with a 20-year-old man. According to the daughter she and the male had sex, and the father requested a report. Report taken
  • Warrants out of county, Ridge Rd., Emma Canty had an active warrant out of Walton County.  Officers made contact and took Ms. Canty into custody.  She was transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, an off-duty officer noticed a car with a hole in the truck area of the Vehicle and thought is was suspicious. when he ran the tag, it showed the Vehicle had no insurance. Vehicle was parked at the CVS on S Broad upon arrival.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Magnolia Ter. Spoke with mother who was having problems with her daughter. Advised her of remedies.
