Monroe PD Reports: Domestic disputes, deceased goat, burglary and entering auto complaints

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between Oct. 27 – Nov. 2, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Drugs, Plaza Dr. Caller advised the smell of cocaine was coming through her walls and making her sick. Female appeared 10-96 (mental issues), no signs of drugs.
  • Theft, Booth Dr., complainant stated named male subject struck her and stole $10.00 and an iPhone 6 plus. Report taken.
  • Domestic dispute, S. Madison Ave., Jerry Wilson called 911 and advised his girlfriend had punched him and they had been arguing. After investigating, it was discovered that Wilson struck his girlfriend in the face and she hit him back in defense. Wilson arrested for FV-Battery.
  • Emergency message, Tanglewood Ln. in regard to residence needs to pick mother up from Clearview. Message was delivered, all ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Barrett St. between 2nd and 3rd St. in regard to older gray Dodge next to woods with open door. Contact was made with truck and it was unoccupied. Truck returns to male subject who resides on 3rd St. The truck had a screwdriver in the ignition but there were no signs of forced entry. Attempted contact with male subject since truck was still on property of subject but had negative contact. Mother at residence was notified. Truck was rescued and locked. Day shift will be advised and see if subject can be located due to needing victim in case truck was possibly attempted to be stolen.
  • Animal Complaint, Walton Street, complainant found one of her goats deceased in her backyard, and believes a neighbor’s canine may be responsible.
  • Dispute, Booth Dr., two subjects were verbally disputing. Parties were separated.
  • Threats, Russell Dr. (Hammond Park), complainant advised he was being threatened by named male subject over a $200.00 loan.
  • Entering Auto report taken at South Broad St., Complainant advised his Mossberg rifle was taken out of his truck last date. The Mossberg was placed on GCIC.
  • Area Check, S. Hammond Dr., Reference to male subject in the area with an active warrant. Officer had negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, E. Washington St. and Felker St., Reference to a suspicious black male wearing a red jacket in the area. Officer had negative contact.
  • 911 Hang-up, West Spring St., The call was in reference to an employee passing out. On arrival, the manager advised all was ok, the employee was going home.
  • Theft, Booth Dr., complainant said named female subject stole some of his property when she was packing to move. Located most of the items in his residence. Supplemental to be added to previous report.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., Two subjects were physically disputing over a male. One subject requested a report but declined to press charges.
  • Gun at South Madison Avenue and Davis St., three black males, one wearing a red shirt pointing a gun at one of the males and then at passing cars.  Made contact with 13, 12 and 14-year-old juveniles. All three admitted to having toy guns they found but were broken and discarded by the antique store. Walton County Sheriff’s deputy located guns.  Officer made contact with mother on N Madison Avenue who was walking to meet the three boys. Guns to be destroyed.
  • Theft, Highland Creek Dr., complainant reported his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado entered sometime last night.  A broken Iphone missing from the vehicle.  Also added a Black in color golf cart was taken from the residence on 10/10/2017.  No VIN information provided.  Requested extra patrol.
  • Suspicious Person, 4th Street & South Broad Street in reference to a white male carrying a machete. The area was checked with negative contact.
  • Hit and Run at Chestnut Cupboard. Met with complainant who stated a burgundy Ford sedan backed in to her vehicle then left the scene. The vehicle was later located abandoned and was impounded from Chestnut LN. Report taken.
  • Burglary, Tall Oaks Lane, complainant reported her 40″ Sanyo television, Xbox with four controllers, and GTA V game disc stolen from her residence sometime between 0500 and 1820 hours. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring Street in reference to a beige passenger car with three individuals standing outside of it. The area was checked with negative results.
  • Civil Issue, West Marable Street. Met with two subjects to discuss the custody of their child. All ok. Civil process was explained.
  • Welfare Check, West 5th Street.  Subject in question was ok and watching Monday Night Football with a friend.  Contact was made with Walton County Deputies who were the complainants’ on the call and they were advised everything was ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Ashton Pointe Apartments, Anonymous complainant stated a white Toyota passenger car parked near the playground, urinated in the parking lot and left the area. Negative contact with the vehicle.
  • Wanted Person Located, South Broad Street.  Rockdale County Sheriff located Daniel Mendoza who had an active warrant from the City of Monroe.  He was picked up and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Warrant Served, Chestnut Ln. Lester Gaither was discovered to have active warrants out of WCSO during a hit and run investigation. Lester was located and taken into custody.
  • Pullover, East Church St (Dollar General).  Two subjects cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce.  Report taken.
  • Theft, S Broad St and Mill St. Met with complainant who reported named subject sold his property while he was in jail. Report taken
  • Damage to Property, King St., complainant stated her rear window to her Nissan Sentra was broken as she was getting ready for work. Report taken.
  • Wanted Person Located, Athens Clark County Sheriff located Dalton Hutton who had an active warrant from the City of Monroe.  He was picked up and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Juvenile Problem, Tanglewood Dr., mother reported her 12 yoa son, became irate after she asked him about a missing cup.  Stated he attempted to hit her, and she had to restrain him.  He left out of the bedroom window to his Father’s house on Tanglewood Drive.  Made contact with father who stated he sent his to school on the bus.  Contact was made with juvenile at Carver Middle School, and stated hismother hit him with a stick.  Did have a visible scratch on the face, and stated named subject in the house saw the stick.  Spoke with mother again, and she stated there was never a stick involved. Named subject stated she was in the bathroom while they were arguing, and did not witness anything.  Unclear on how the scratch was caused to the face, conflicting stories.  DFCS Supervisor was advised on the incident, and stated she would update the safety plan.
  • Illegal Dumping, West Spring St., Owner of car wash reported a red passenger car with an older white female driver dumped a bag of trash in his trash can last date at 1721 hours.  Was unable to decipher the tag number on the camera. 
  • Dispute, South Madison Ave Felker Park. complainant wanting to speak with officers about recovering his vehicle and his television. Complainant advised to call Monroe PD once he finds available wrecker service to retrieve his vehicle from girlfriend’s residence. 
  • Reckless Driver Highway 138 towards the city, Silver Nissan driving reckless, passing over double yellow line.  Complainant flashed headlights as officer was getting on West Spring Street. Due to traffic, lost sight of vehicle.
  • Theft, West Spring Street (Walmart), Contact made with Walmart Employee. Surveillance cameras catching black male at 02:34 hours this day walking into Walmart and throwing stolen merchandise over the Garden Center fence then leaving in a vehicle. Full Video surveillance not available at this time. Will follow up with Monroe PD when evidence is available.
  • Theft, Plaza Dr., Contact made with complainant who informed me her temporary tag on her vehicle (2007 Ford Edge Beige) had been stolen last night. Complainant made contact with her dealer who stated he will give her another tag with the same number. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Colquitt St., Contact with complainant who stated his neighbor put her leaves and trash in his yard. Contact made with neighbor who advised officers she will remove the leaves and trash by the end of the day. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Hammond Dr., Dwight Royster arrested for DUI-Combo. Vehicle left on location.
  • Damage to Property, 3rd St., complainant said he’s trying to sell his car and his car now has a BB hole on the driver’s side door.  Complainant said he seen his neighbor on 3rd Street holding a BB gun on his porch and requested I speak to the neighbor about shooting the BB gun.  Complainant declined report.  Negative contact with anyone on 3rd Street.
  • Dispute, North Broad St., Clerk stated a black female came into the store and brought items to the counter.  Items were rung up, and bagged totaling $5.18.  Subject only had $5, got upset, and pushed the items off the counter.  Left in a light green passenger car, negative on vehicle registration.
