Monroe PD Reports: Domestic disputes keep police officers busy

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents during the period Nov. 3 – 9, 2017. Due to its length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic Dispute, Baron Dr., couple had a verbal dispute. Male agreed to leave for the night and the couple was advised of remedies. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Maple Street. Officers made contact with the resident on location and they were all extremely uncooperative and did not wish to speak to the police.
  • Welfare Check, Wilkins Dr. Met with female subject who advised everything was ok.
  • Auto Accident, West Spring St., Single vehicle vs. building.  Child inside vehicle pulled shifter out of park causing the front bumper of vehicle to strike brick pillar on outside of building. Minimal damage.
  • Burglary in Progress, South Broad St., The complainant advised she saw flashlights in the abandoned house. The residence was cleared, and no one was on location.  All ok.
  • Damage to Property, Tanglewood Dr., complainant advised an unknown subject turned over his trash can and scattered trash all over his driveway. He believes his girlfriend’s children are responsible.
  • Met with Walton County Sheriff’s Office at Pannell Road and Blasingame Rd., male subject admitted to going into the abandoned house on South Broad Street earlier this date.  Subject served with Prohibited Entry.
  • EMS Assist, Walker Dr., reference to female subject who was found on her living room floor by church member. MED Unit #1 was on scene, but female subject refused treatment. Subject’s son, to be contacted for possible living arrangements. Report taken for condition of home. Adult Protective Services was notified.
  • Harassment, Monroe Food Mart on North Broad St., complainant advised a green SUV was driving recklessly, almost striking her as she was walking to church.
  • Domestic, Ridge Rd., couple in a verbal dispute.  Explained eviction process. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle on North Broad Street in the area of Highway 78 in reference to a silver tone passenger car unable to maintain its lane. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Damage to Property, Knight St., Reference damage to a vehicle, complainant said he found his vehicle this morning with paint missing on the driver’s side. Report taken.
  • 911 Hang-up, East Spring St., Complainant advised she was having a verbal dispute with boyfriend. Both parties advised all was ok.
  • Missing Person, East Church St., complainant received word that her niece is in the area with a named male subject.  The niece was reported missing through Cherokee County as her grandparents live there and have custody.  The niece is suicidal and is bi-polar.  BOLO: given to the county as well.
  • Domestic Dispute, West Vine St., couple verbally disputing earlier today.  Male advised by his mother who lives with them to take a walk and return later.  Male did and when he returned female wouldn’t allow him in.  Advised female she would have to evict.
  • Follow Up, Green St., Contact made with complainant about harassment from earlier this date. Just wanted to inform officers she will be finding a ride to church from now on.
  • Reckless Driver, Hwy 78E, Reference to a Nissan XTerra failing to maintain lane. Officer made contact with vehicle and the driver was complaining of back pain. She refused EMS and had her daughter pick her up.
  • Domestic Dispute, Baron Dr., male subject verbally disputing with girlfriend.  Both admitted to throwing a small bottle at each other.  Both said no physical violence occurred. Male left for the rest of the evening so female could pack and get a ride. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Kingsridge Dr., Complaint of a white male named, wearing a hoodie and in possession of a knife walking in the area.  Complainant did not know where subject resides, and did not wish to speak with an officer.  Negative contact with anyone matching the description in the area.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Charlotte Rowell Boulevard and North Broad St., Reference to a black Chevy Impala failing to maintain lane. Negative contact.
  • Reckless Driver, Highway 78 and Unisia Dr., Reference to a white Ford Mustang speeding and driving reckless. Officer made contact and spoke to the driver.
  • Dispute, Reed St., Dispute between nephew, and his uncle over nephew’s SSI check. Subjects do live together. Situation mediated.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Michael Cir. in reference to a black male walking in the roadway.  Conducted an area check with negative results.
  • Suspicious Person, Michael Circle. Anonymous complainant stated a white male subject was walking down the street screaming obscenities. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Discharge of Firearms, West Vine St., Conducted extensive area check of the trails near the complainant’s residence with negative contact.
  • Follow Up, W Vine St., complainant advised named male subject would not allow her to come in the home. The situation was mediated, and male subject was advised of the civil process of eviction. Complainant left for the night.
  • Fight, Cook St. Apartments. Caller advised roughly 50 people were actively fighting. Upon arrival no one on scene wanted to speak to the police and we could not locate any victim.
  • Dispute, Checkers, male subject on location yelling at customers. Encountered male subject walking near Applebee’s. Subject was provided a courtesy ride to Loganville near his last known residence per his request.
  • Suspicious Person, reference to a person digging through the trash at Plaza Trace. The area was checked with negative results.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Ln., Met with complainant who was requesting a report because her mother would not let her stay at her house and her probation officer has her living there. Complainant stated she recently removed all of her belongings and now she wants to move back in. I advised her that I could not force her mother to allow her to move back in.
  • Safety Check, Charrolett Rowell, 1x arrest for possession less than one ounce. and 1x vehicle towed for no insurance.
  • Stolen Vehicle, Jessica Way, complainant stated he witnessed a large black male steal his pickup truck.  A repo company notified Walton County Dispatch the vehicle had been repossessed.
