Monroe PD Reports: Gunshots fired, child bitten by dog and neighborhood disputes

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 27 to May 3, 2018. Due to the length, this has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, Hickory Dr., complainant advised named male subject pointed a rifle at his vehicle. Male subject advised he did not know who was driving the vehicle and advised the subject to get off his property. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Lane, two subjects were physically disputing. WTBT on for one subject for battery.
  • Welfare Check, South Madison Ave., reference to checking on female resident. Officer made contact with female. She advised she was in a dispute with her neighbor about dog poop. She advised her neighbor came to her residence cursing at her and made threats to kill her dog. Spoke to the neighbor whom advised she did not threaten to kill the dog and that the resident was cursing at her. Both females were served with criminal trespass warnings to stay off each other’s property for a year. Report taken.
  • EMS Assist, Glen Iris Dr., sister found her brother unresponsive. EMS determined the bother had passed away prior to their arrival. Coroner and CID notified.
  • Dispute South Madison Ave. Called in by neighbor. caller stated her nephew arrived at her residence to take property that had belonged to her father whom recently passed away. She advised the dispute was verbal only. Nephew was gone when officers arrived.
  • Unknown Law report taken at MPD. Officer made contact with complainant whom wanted to make a report regarding theft of mislaid property. Complainant stated he left his wallet on the counter at the Marathon on West Spring Street. When he went back to retrieve it, it was missing. He advised he would review video footage once the owner arrived on location. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Birch St., reference to a silver Buick in the area possibly buying narcotics. Extra patrol requested.
  • Mental health patient, Breedlove Dr., reference to female subject being combative. On arrival subject was inside building for a voluntary evaluation. All was ok.
  • EMS Assist, Armistead Circle, reference to conducting a welfare check on the children on location. Officer made contact with mother whom appeared under the influence of her prescription medication. All four children were ok. Ex-husband arrived on scene to assist.
  • Found Property, Hammond Dr./Hammond Park, reference to a silver and black in color bike being located in the creek, the bike was removed from the creek, serial number ran which returned not stolen.
  • Theft of Services, West Spring St., Huddle House, reference to couple walking out without paying bill. Returned to restaurant and settled bill. Both issued criminal trespass warnings.
  • Theft Report, Meadow Walk Dr., reference to complainant reporting his Troy Bilt weed eater being stolen from his old residence on East Marable Street, report taken. 
  • Hit and Run, West Highland Ave/North Broad St. parking lot, complainant said her Chevrolet Aveo was struck by an unknown red vehicle between the hours of noon and 1930.
  • Damage to Property, MLK Jr. Blvd., Longhorns, reference to complainant reporting her vehicle had been damaged by named male subject at his residence located at St. Ives Walk, contact was made with male subject, he advised he would pay for the repairs. Complainant agreed to him paying for the damage. report taken.
  • Animal Complaint, Carwood Dr., reference to child bitten by canine from Carwood Drive. Turned over to Animal Control.
  • Sexual Assault, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to 3-year-old possibly assaulted on Custom Way. Turned over to CID
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Washington/High School Ave., black Ford F150 was parked in the roadway.  Contact was made with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
  • Follow-up, South Madison Ave., caller had information on a burglary that occurred on Meadowbrook.  Officer already had the information and will be doing a supplemental.
  • Dispute, Maple Lane, reference to complainant disputing with named subject, parties were separated prior to officer’s arrival, both parties were advised of remedies, report taken.
  • Burglary Report, Walker Dr., reference to the house being entered and items damaged.  Unknown at this time if anything was taken
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Matthews Park, male and female subjects were “trying to get rid of a headache” after prom.  They were advised to seek medical attention elsewhere.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to parties on location having a verbal argument, made contact with father and daughter, they advised there were people on location they wanted to leave and had an argument, the subjects were gone when officers arrived. Everything on location ok.
  • Large Party, West Creek Cir, party was shutdown everyone on location left the area, residence was given verbal warnings.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad/Charlotte Rowell, reference to a red in color SUV failure to maintain lane, area check conducted with negative contact. 
  • Area Check, Plaza Trace, reference to caller believing she heard someone turn her door handle. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, East Church St., Jack Peters grocery, reference to a female complainant by name given disputing with an unknown female about drugs being purchased. Both parties were gone when officers arrived, area check conducted with negative contact. 
  • Prowler Report, Walker Dr., reference to the complainant hearing noises outside and possibly seeing people in the wood line, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Discharging Firearms, Turner St., Ten 9mm casings were located between two addresses on Turner St.  Two bullet holes were located in the siding of one address on Turner Street.  No suspects.
  • Threats, South Broad St., reference to complainant hearing threats being made sometime last night. Officer made contact with male and female complaint’s. They advised they contacted the police last night in reference to a dispute on South Broad Street. They advised that after the police left the location a subject at the residence by the name “nick name given” and an unknown female made threats to hurt someone. Both complainants believed the threats were in reference to them. No names were mentioned during the threats and it wasn’t made directly in their presence. They were advised of remedies.
